Late to the party as I just finished watching the game. Glad espn app had the full replay since my Hulu DVR missed the first 15 minutes of the game due to the WV/Baylor game.

My take away is that we are nowhere near firing at all cylinders. Hope we get there though. Too many turnovers. Jizzle is a fantastic player. Got figure out how to get Gilbert going again.

Hilton’s energy has really been lackluster today and honestly most of the season
I went today for the first time in a few years. All the new screens are great, the lighting was fine, but Hilton is a shadow of its former self. It seemed only the students tried to make it loud and they weren't really that loud. When i was in school the place roared from the time the announcer said"heeeeeers Johnie" you could yell at the person next to you in the upper deck and they couldn't understand you.

Gilbert is struggling, teams are not allowing him drive to the hoop and finish, which is his game. They are now cutting him off and doubling down, stripping the ball away, and he is getting frustrated and it hurts the team.
He only took 5 shots. Compare that to Caleb Love who went 6/15 and 1/8. To take away Gilbert, they give us other things.

I hate to say this, but I was VERY disappointed in the student secton today. When the first Cincy player fouled out, they did a great job of "right / left", but they totally failed when he did a two footed hop back to the bench, they went completely silent.

This tricky move needed better prep. Where is the coaching, where are the locker room meetings, where is the effort and pride?

This was a giant failure that is unacceptable from our student sections. In the future, I demand they say "hop" when the opposing player tries to trick them with a sumultaneous right left hop move. We can not accept being so ill prepared on national TV.

Get it together students!
Students aren’t like they use to be. Political correctness probably has some to do with it. And it’s fine. I get being nice. But back in the not too distant past students and fans were half cocked and rabid cussing their heads off.

I think people naturally compare the best games they've seen in premiere matchups to whatever they just watched. It was a game against Cincinnati. They're good, but they're not get fired up out of your mind good. Go watch the next matchup with Houston and you'll have a fair comparison.

Free throw shooting saved our bacon today.
Too many unforced turnovers.

This was probably one of the more engaged crowds of the season IMO.

Free throws saved our bacon today. Congrats on the guy winning the lawn mower.
Great turn out especially with the weather.

I just saw that! This is the same s****y Utah team that iowa beat. This kansas team has big problems. They aren't getting all the best players anymore and they are not mentally strong. F*** kansas!

Utah has shown glimpses of playing well and kinda play a bonkers style.

What someone did in December simply doesn't mean a whole lot now.

And? I disagreed then, and I disagree now. Our team shuts down other teams as we go longer in the game. KSU was the exception. We won, which demonstrates that point. And, it's ok if someone disagrees with your take, for the record.
I think you see the wearing down factor from us outletting missed shots and pushing the ball. Don’t always go to the hoop but forces them to get back and our depth especially in the guard court takes their legs eventually

Anyone able to find the full game replay? ESPN (as well as YTTV) still are not showing the chunk missed from the earlier overlapping game. When this type of overlap happens, they usually adjust the DVR to include the full version, but apparently that hasn’t happened yet :(

I watched it on ESPN+ last night and the game was fine. It didn't cut out anything.

Tinsley 177 in just 2 years is the real leader
If you project Tamin's stats from this year out 11 more games (Big 12 chamionship game appearance, and play at least three tournament games by making a Sweet 16) as the floor for this team, he only comes up 4 assists short of Tinsley for a two-year comparison. He could easily beat that with a deeper run in the NCAA tournament.

Was that the best FT percentage in a game, or at home, or in conference or whatever? Seems we make some unforced turnovers lately as the season wears on. Chatfield is really turning into a contender for Big Man Sub of the Year if he keeps this up. Have we ever had a better 8 man rotation now that Heise can score a little? Dishon was not as engaged yesterday. If TJ can get all 8 on point at the same time, the skies the limit. Milan makes all the difference in that.

Don't try and compare them, they are nothing alike. To Tamin's credit, he has dealt with injury a lot, shoulder now the broken thumb. It's why he doesn't usually bring the ball up and his turnovers are way up. Tinsley was on a whole other level creating offense, Tamin is craftier at stealing the ball.

I don't disagree at all, but we were talking about steals. Jamaal had 98 in a year. Tamin, 96. They are both in a class by themselves, no one else in the top ten on that list got above the low to mid 70's in their best year (Thigpen, Stinson, Grayer).
