Agree. Anyone watching that game who’s not a fan of KU or ISU would objectively say Bilas was highly complimentary of ISU - our program as a whole. The Hilton environment. TJ. Our players. All of it.
And he may be right - basically saying ISU can beat any of the top team in the country. However, anyone of those TOP team can beat ISU.
Time will tell

@brentblum any comments on the NIL statement:D
This made me hate Bill Self less. I still hate him a lot but this improved it. My honest opinion is he knows NIL has changed things a lot and the arrogance piece and superiority might need to decrease if he wants to continue in this era. I could be wrong but the NIL money spreading talent out can humble some of these coaches

Watson has fresh legs, nice to have him now. I have a hard time seeing Milan return to 100% but not shooting hand might be the one injury that one can return from. Watson made some threes back in the day, I specifically remember one in Lawrence.

I think he was actually complimenting TJ for putting together what we have. And perhaps taking a shot at his own situation.

He knows damn well his team costs significantly more money than ours and it’s not working nearly as well.

Great quote from Self: one guy looked really happy to be starting and the other looked really mad he wasn’t. Best two players on the floor tonight.

Not sure about others but Bill seems infinitely more likable than he used to be. Probably the opposing coach I enjoy listening to the most.
He's always been a wealth of knowledge imo. Now that everyone can pay players I care a lot less about before. His post game was awesome and even his last statement 'I guess that means I'm done' got a nice laugh. He's a sage and I can't help but feel that it's a little of the changing of the guard as TJ keeps beating him of late.

I think that’s what Bilas was trying to say. Not effectiviely but I didn’t take that as a knock on our team.
Yeah I was there so I have no idea what was said, I usually watch road games with the sound off and JW and EH on the radio. I'll listen to away announcers if it's FF.

I was reading the game thread on KU's message board and it was the usual amount of b*tching about bad calls by the refs. But I smiled when I read how one KU fan described Iowa State as being "Houston with an offense". I thought that was a pretty good overall description.

Continue to be butt hurt about it or choose to focus on the “this team can beat anyone in the country” part. Up to you.
Huh? Who is butthurt about it?

Personally I’m absolutely pumped. I’m still scanning Twitter every 6 seconds out of pure joy. What a night!

DeVries has WVU playing well he's a good coach, his kid is still out isn't he? I expect it will be a good game, hoping for another road W.
His kid might do a medical redshirt.
If plays 1 more game he would not be eligible

This will never happen....but Watson is 6"7. I wonder....if we ran into Auburn again, or a couple other teams with dominant stretch 4s....we got nobody that can guard that Baker-Mazzara freak show (nobody does really) Could you throw him on a guy like that for a few minutes? Will prob never know. Just a crazy thought I had. Athletically, and size wise Watson is right there....maybe he could bother a guy like that.
Watson played 14 minutes against Illinois in the tournament with a better +/- than Milan. Recall that Illinois team had great length in the backcourt and perimeter.

He can be an asset that helps us against the longer, athletic teams, although having a season of DNPs likely limits that

You've implied that ISU couldn't lose to a couple of top ten teams so if they lose at Houston and KU, I'm curious to see if you still disagree with the notion that many teams could beat ISU.
It was a compliment. Bilas said many teams can beat ISU, but there isn't any team that ISU can't beat.

He's right. Unranked TTU almost beat ISU. There are probably 30-40 other teams that could beat ISU if the other team played well. That means there are around 300 teams that don't even have a chance.
