Hilton was a blast tonight. When the team needs the crowd, we are all in, but it never really felt it needed to be. It was just kind of “quit playing with the food boys”

Agree. Anyone watching that game who’s not a fan of KU or ISU would objectively say Bilas was highly complimentary of ISU - our program as a whole. The Hilton environment. TJ. Our players. All of it.
Hell, he even said Kentucky's ice cream has a competitor in the Clone Cone

What I thought was truly more a display of his true respect for ISU was his knowledge of Demarion Watson as a player. Fraschilla would have that knowledge beings he's been the main Big 12 announcer for a good while now, but not sure many others would know off the cuff. Bilas hasn't done many Big 12 games & even fewer ISU games, but he spoke accurately & quite positively on Watson's abilities & skills as a player, this despite not getting many minutes this year. Just needs out of the fog of Duke & SEC from the ESPN studio once in a while.

Texas Tech damn near beat ISU, so he's probably right.
Facts.

Colorado was within 4 at about 3 minutes.

Iowa was up 1 either way a little over 4 left.

Dayton was tied with about a minute left.

We did an amazing job of closing out those games and I’m not trying to take anything away from what we’ve done. But yes - Bilas was not off base and was not taking a shot at us.

One fun game. I'da never expected something resembling, "Kansas ain't in our league."
A first for me, and countless others here.
Some sorta close moments, but not really.
Never, ever, ever, ever...
imagined, #2 and possibly, #1, at some point.

It was a really stupid quote by Bilas. I think he thought he was being sort of complimentary but under no context was it appropriate. And no, Jay - there is no evidence that “many” teams can beat us. There was absolutely NO reason for that part of the quote. It was unprovoked.
This is the part about it that bothered me. Guarantee he wouldn't say this about a 15-1 Duke team. So far only one team has beat us, the #1-ranked team in the country, and it took a furious comeback and a buzzer-beater that was somewhat fluky.

44 pages is it? for KU? wow
Just another team now that the "bags from Adidas" advantage is neutralized.

Also it was so great to see Watson get his chance and come in and just be a DOG, great minutes by him.
DeVries has WVU playing well he's a good coach, his kid is still out isn't he? I expect it will be a good game, hoping for another road W.
There has been no details on what exactly is wrong with him, at least not that I've seen. Some Drake fans said it's an ongoing shoulder issue that was bothering him at Drake too. Given the timing of it (they shut him down after eight games, which is usually the max you can play on a normal schedule and still be eligible for a medical redshirt), I'd be surprised if we see him on Saturday.

Lastly, while there are many things to praise in this game, our posts once again bullied and outplayed "Big 12 pre-season player of the year" Hunter Dickinson. He and his multi-million $ NIL deal were utterly shut down by transfers from Charlotte, Saint Mary's, and Seattle U.

Great to see Dishon respond positively to a little adversity, he played with a purpose last night!
