The whole 'they don't matter' thing has gotten extremely overstated by our local media as a coping mechanism for our prior performances.

There's been a dip from prior years, but they still matter.
Seems like it matters to the players and it Sure matters to me as a fan. This was much more fun than losing to Memphis. I'll always remember this game

I really hope bowl games just start paying the starters to play. I think the opt out issue would be fixed. Cut the spending on the gift package crap.
I think that will likely be in the contract when the schools start paying the players

I couldn't care less that Ward didn't play the 2nd half. Cyclones were missing #1 WR (Noel 1A), #1 CB, #1 safety, and lost the best tackler on the team.
A year from now, only thing anybody remembers is the Cyclone victory.
I'm very happy. And slightly inebriated.
