The offense still bears lots of blame also. They did not get into the endzone again after the early TD drive until late in the 3rd quarter. That's a 35 minute TD drought. We only scored 36 points out of desperation. Sure the defense was bad but let's not pretend the offense was great either.
The first drive after half was a sorry display of play-calling especially. So was the last drive of the first half for that matter

Yes but that dude was a freak on the outside and not on the interior line. The opposing tackles were sometimes left on an island with him. Offenses did do a lot of chipping with a running back or a tight end. He got most of his sacks when he was one on one.

That is not true. Maybe as a So year, but His Jr and Sr year he was doubled and sometimes doubled with a chip

It's TAF w/o linebackers. I just can't be overly critical of the d when we are playing "3rd stringers," at the most critical d position.
We ain't the likes of Georgia, etc....where the backups are handsomely paid 4 stars.
And yeah, the likes of Georgia can lose the likes of Dom O, and barely skip a d beat. Not here

Would be nice to see ISU throw to the backs more than twice a game. Never a thing in Campbell's offenses.
The first score of the 4th Qtr. was a Becht to #12 Jackson, 27 TD pass. That worked.

I don't remember how many others we had. Did we do any screens or bubble screens? If so, how many and did they work?

They ran one WR screen on the first drive of the game and gained 15+ yards, then that play never appeared again.

Rocco took one check down to Hansen for yet again another 15 yard gain and that was it.

Total failure from Mouser

Wow! So 3 very successful plays (pass to RB or WR screen), never to be repeated, in any form? Yeah, that seems like a little tunnel vision on what you want to do vs. what you should do.

Edit: Looks like one other targeted throw to a RB, an incomplete to Sama.

Missed Higgins on a 3rd down bubble screen.

I swear.... we were touted as having the best b12 secondary early in the pre/early season.
We got eaten today + plus 2 Kansas receivers dropped fairly long, EASY passes
