4. Rushing 3 guys. McDonald is a pure edge rusher who will often compromise outside integrity to get around the outside and the other 2 guys never got a whiff of Rattler in the 3 man scheme. Once we consistently brought more pressure we got better results, as had been the case well...basically since forever...when we play teams who have a pulse at the LOS. Abandon the 3 man rush. It has not, does not, and will not work against the likes of an Oklahoma. When we did it Rattler had ALL DAY to throw the ball.

Are you seriously criticizing d choices when we held them to three 2nd half points??

Fiesta would be a plus. Alamo is less exciting since we were recently there, but it's always better than nothing.

Two years ago we were practically begging for Alamo. So, yes....it's definitely better than "nothing"

Brock gets us to a certain point but you have to start wondering if his arm strength and decision making limitations set a ceiling for us. I’m wondering the same about Tom Manning and how our offense plays in big games.

If being in a conference championship and having a look at the playoffs is our ceiling then sign me up for it every year.

A scheme that suits the offense in general was needed.

This OU team gave up only 85ish yards/game rushing and was tough up the middle.

So the game plan to force it into that and and put Purdy in statue mode was baffling.

Same with Hall. OUTSIDE ALL DAY.

Get him and the line moving to one sideline or the other early to get OU responding instead of going toe to toe.

I hate how people defend manning so fiercely. Drives me crazy. Trouble is our teams were so bad before Campbell that no one can see past the current success. This team has talent but there are deficiencies that the OC is not compensating for and it drives me nuts.

Sometimes manning calls a good game but he gets stubborn in others (e.g. today) and I want to pull my hair out!

Needed to have something short for him underneath to throw. Thought Hutchinson could have made a better play on that ball, but Purdy was is serious trouble there.

I'm sure Soehner was dragging across in front of Purdy and no defender was in the picture. But again, he was under extreme pressure

With a to left, I'm actually disappointed we didn't run on third down. They were playing the pass hard. Might have been a good time to give the ball to the offensive player of the year.

We'll get a great bowl game. Think Fiesta or Alamo Bowl.
Great is Fiesta. Sorry the Alamo for a team that was #6 before the final rankings and went 8-1 in a P5 regular season is not great. That's a waste of a good year. I want to see these guys again against some of the best competition. Not USC in the Alamo Bowl.

Again a normal year going in give me the Alamo and I am ecstatic. But these team is better than that and hope they get rewarded for it. But the Big 12 has NOT had good luck with getting at-larges to the NY6.

I'm just pissed that our great season is much more pedestrian now. No Championship, likely no NY6 bowl, drop in the ranking probably to double digits... People will inevitably see the loss and think we didn't belong or OU just had a bad game (when it was certainly us with the bad game), the last drive riddled with penalties and poor OL play resulting in the pick, ... Just the whole thing is going to feel demeaned. It'll feel a little better if they win whatever bowl they get into, but still not nearly as good as winning today.

I agree that it sucks that we don't get the conference champ moniker. I don't understand how you can win the league outright in a true round robin and not get at least a regular season title like the conference hands out in bball.

We'll have to see about the ranking and bowl game. We lost to #10 in a game that came down to the last possession. I don't think we should drop that much. NW lost so they're not jumping us. UGA and Cinci will jump us along with OU, and maybe Coastal if they win. I could see us taking OU's spot at 10, or maybe dropping to 11. We should stay in the top 12. Where that gets us, who knows, but I think NY6 is still in play and a win in any decent bowl gives us a good chance of finishing in the top 10.

Hoping for Fiesta but won't be upset with Alamo.

Strong effort to finish and make this a game. The first quarter absolutely killed us. Also, I'm concerned Isheem Young is going to think he's going to get a targeting for each hit he goes for. Maybe the coaches just need to train him to hit low (easier said than done). I'm still not over that though, that was ********* - he led with his shoulder pad. That should never lead to a game ejection. Just terrible. Great game by the defensive ends. Offensive line struggled but we have been ripped with injuries, losing Remsburg was bigger than even I thought it would be.

Grad transfers in the portal: let's go get an elite offensive tackle, kicker, slot receiver, or maybe another corner to complement what we have. This team is going to be great again next year. Tough day for Brock, feel for the young man.

Thanks for the memories Purdy, but I do hope he moves on and doesn't take the extra year of eligibility. Lots of special moments in his career, but I feel he's shown his ceiling in the big games. Those three INTs were all really, really bad. Rookie level. Feels like he's regressed on several fronts the last two years, including losing his accurate deep ball threat completely. Fix special teams and develop a clutch QB who doesn't choke under pressure, and we'll return to the championship again but with a win. We don't need a QB to carry the team anymore, they just can't throw the big games away.
