Talking with the owner, he had another possible location narrowed down to a couple places.

New Kingland Renovation areas on Welch
West Towne Pub Area (Least Likely)
Downtown Ames
Across the street from Principal Park in Des Moines.

I would love to see Brick City come to Campustown or West Ames (the old Wallaby spot?).

The place has the feel of a sports bar of great neighborhoods I remember in Chicago. I love places like that.

I'm not a huge Brick City fan, but it's 1000% better than Oddfellows, I've never had anything good there.

So you had to wait 30 minutes for seating at a sports bar during the final four and that ruined it for you?

It didn't ruin it for me. I just got a couple of beers while I waited. No big deal. Maybe for you, but I was cool with it as I ran into a few people I knew and watched the game.

Any place in Iowa have a ground bacon burger?

A place in my area has a 50/50 beef and bacon burger. It's rich and must cause an increased risk of sudden heart attack, but it's goooood

For those who haven't been to Brick City Grill:

Farmer Brown
All natural beef burger, fried egg, maple cured ham, farmhouse cheddar,
golden fried hash brown and crisp lettuce with a dab of mayo.

Brick City Double
14 oz of fresh Angus, 4 slices of American cheese, 4 slices of bacon
and our 1000 Island dressing. Grab a few extra napkins!

I'm assuming by "all natural beef", they mean that it wasn't a "laboratory-grown" piece of ground beef?

I enjoy joy the peanut butter pasta, but the burgers have zero flavor.

I think Tally's in Beaverdale advertizes a 50/50 bacon burger but that place consistently disappoints everyone and has no real identity beyond having a patio over beaverdale.

Finally ate there... nothing special at all... actually below average. Frozen fries from a bag, not even seasoned. I had the fish and chips, my son had a burger. The fish was not hand made, just some frozen stuff they cooked. Not sure why anyone would go to a restaurant to eat cooked Hy-Vee food. My son's burger was good, but again... "hash browns" on it were those frozen ones that are a rectangle with rounded ends... why would a restaurant not even be able to make fresh hash browns.

Staff was friendly.

Very underwhelmed.

I assume the location across from Principal Park would be the old Foundry Building. That would be a VERY cool building to put a restaurant in.

I had a burger at brick city last night. The brick city double. One of the best burgers I've ever eaten.
