He tells us what we want to hear. Plain and simple. I will agree that with the Chizik hiring we will able to increase coaches' salaries, that's the norm in almost every coaching regime that has turnover. Increasing the budget from ticket sales, etc. due to the Chizik buzz was good as well. But he screwed up and now his back is against the wall....he has to make a hire that is going to define his tenure here. However...if I see the guy cry one more time...geez. He's like the **** Vermeil of ADs.

And **** Vermeil won a Super Bowl, two NFC Championships, a Rose Bowl, and a number of Coach of the Year Awards.

Just be happy we have Pollard and not Jacobs - that AD just hired a coach coming off a 10 game losing streak and without one single road win to his name (as a HC). This at a school just a few years removed from an undefeated season in the SEC.

Yea, except...the VB team didn't play in Minneapolis this weekend...I know its nitpicking from what the article is about...I just really wish the Rag could get facts straight....I mean...even this piece of information doesn't take much to figure out they were in Texas and I believe he was at the BBall game...

Wow you must live blessed life where everything is perfect. This man is beat down right now. His child was extremely ill during this whole ordeal, his emotions are going to run heavy. Spare us all your cold hearted BS.

I'm sure this was a rush job, but very poor summary by the Register. Left out a lot of key comments.

Hopefully they follow-up with a more comprehensive article... but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Being out of town, I was not aware of his child's current condition. For that I apologize for the Vermeil comment.

That's because they are all mouth-breathing trailer-trash Hawk fans.

WTH is with Hawkeye fans. I mean honestly, do they feel that the world looks to Ia City as a source of rationality? Do they honestly believe that ISU fans, Auburn fans or anyone else cares about what they have to say? Do they ever SHUT UP?

I think I already know the answer.

I never lost respect for the man, if anything I have even greater respect for him after watching his interview...i didnt even bother reading the hawk fans comments.
