not sure if serious. ...

wait, so as a fan of NDSU and all of our success.... Im a JERK if i even remotely THINK that we can compete in the big 12 ?? seriously?

(pretty sure if NDSU was in the big 12, we'd have 22 more full ride scholarship players that we'd beat out iowa state, minnesota, iowa for, thus having more of an advantage over those said squads)

Sounds like the Bison have been pretty banged up. Starting linebacker Esley Thorton has been dealing with a sore groin, Zach Vraa suffered a conclusion a couple weeks ago, Trevor Gebhart (wr) has had a sore hamstring and Crockett has been banged up in camp.

Like it matters... Haven't you heard they have the best conditioning coach in the country? They can go 2 full games in a row if needed.

It's the fact that your team is untested against good FBS schools and you tout like they're the most amazing team to ever walk the earth and that ISU is scum. There's a difference between being confident and being an @ssbag. You're clearly an @ssbag. You can't compete in the Big 12, never will, and will never get to play with the big boys. Enjoy this game and the one against Iowa in 2016 because that's the last time you'll ever play a Power 5 school. As much as you want to make fun of Iowa State, you have not once acknowledged that your school is 0-1 against us in football. I doubt you would be able to compete with 22 more scholarships. Who's going to want to go to a school in Fargo with a tiny, lousy stadium, over even a school like Iowa State? The only reason you guys compete in 1AA is because you get the best of the players that aren't good enough to even play for schools like Kent State or Bowling Green. Those types of players won't make it through 12 games, nine of which would be against Big 12 opponents. In case you didn't know, there is a HUGE difference between FCS and FBS football, yet a lot of you Bison fans don't think there is a gap at all. Once this Power 5 thing happens, you guys will get screwed along with everyone else outside of the five main conferences. Iowa State will benefit from this and we will widen the gap even more. So enjoy this while you can, and sorry to all of the decent Bison fans on this message board that have to have lakes ruin everything for them.

Ask TCU how those extra 22 scholarships helped them the first two years in the Big12. And, of course, you know that TCU recruits WAY better than NDSU and was already playing better teams than NDSU before joining the Big12.

ndsu honestly has way more to lose in this game.

if ndsu loses the national media will now completely ignore them the rest of the year.
no gameday for sure if they lose.
in fact no one will talk about ndsu till at least 2016 and that is only if they beat iowa.
the great thing about being an iowa state fan is when you win; there is a complete meltdown for the opposing teams fan base; ISU winning a game pisses people off real bad.

now if isu loses; no one will care besides the isu fanbase. and the national media will talk about it for a whole 20 seconds. when we lost to uni last year no one gave a crap in the national media! we are already irrelevant and its great.

the high that ndsu has been on since beating ksu has no where to go but down.

the downside of winning I suppose.

now on the other hand iowa state has no where to go but up!!!!!!!!! we stunk so bad last year haha.

sucks to be high huh.

and after isu beats ndsu have fun leaving the world of relevancy.

Okay, let me break it down for Lakes and the rest of the Bison fans:

1. After ISU wins, nobody will bat an eye. National media will not give the story two minutes, as no one cares about an FBS school beating an FCS school. We'll go into another 3-4 NATIONALLY televised games while NDSU will wallow in obscurity the rest of the year. NDSU will try to get to the FCS NC game, but might trip for a second time against UNI. ISU will continue on to try to get to a bowl game (which will probably still get higher TV ratings than the FCS NC game).

2. IF NDSU happens to win, again, nobody will bat an eye outside of NDSU, as it will not be as big an upset as the win over KSU. The national media will not give a crap. ISU will still go on to it's NATIONALLY televised 3-4 games and still try to get to a bowl game. NDSU might still get to an FCS NC game and try to become 4-time king of the nobodies.

Either way, NDSU will remain in obscurity all season long and go back to playing games televised on ESPN8 (the Ocho). Bison fans need this game more than we do. This is their superbowl. To us, just one more game on the schedule. We have bigger fish to fry (Texas, OU, Baylor, KSU).

Rant over...

We need this game more than you? Yikes. What do Iowa State fans hope for in a season? A bowl game right? If you lose to an FCS team at home that is replacing 7 of 9 starters on the lines, has a new QB, and mostly new coaching staff, why even bother following the rest of the year. You lose to NDSU at home you have ZERO chance of a bowl game. While it is just one more game on the schedule, for a team that is trying to get to six wins for a bowl. While its true that you probably don't get much benefit out of win, wouldn't a loss be devasting to any assessment of the state of the program. I mean, this is your coach's 6th year, you are apparently loaded on offense, and you don't care if you lose to an FCS team at home for the 2nd year in a row?

While the FCS is unquestionably well below FBS in national sports relevance, it is nonetheless important to the fans of the teams in the FCS. If NDSU loses to ISU it would certainly be disappointing, but NDSU could still have a very successful FCS season. As you assert, NDSU will remain essentially in obscurity nationally either way. So how do we have more to lose?

That's not exactly great. It means that people perceive our program as one that completely stinks. It's hard to find a "great" in that.

Troll, lol. I've been going to games since before you were probably born. There's 239 pages of fans feeding into lake bison's trolling. He's a die hard fan who lives for getting everyone's panties in a bind.

Here nor there
Iowa State clearly has more to lose, as it is a no win situation. A Big 12 program that loses to teams like NDSU two years in a row is not healthy and would be looking at a coaching change in the not so distant future. For ISU it is the easiest game of the year, it is a must win game in a no win situation.

Heads in the sky
Mickeys, Sips or project 20/20 have been in contact with my appearance. Which would you recommend friday night?

Project 20/20. They even built you a fence to climb over for your grand entrance and to keep all the ladies from getting to you.

please don't go anywhere else, and ruin mine and everyone else's night on welch. Thanks.
