Go with Field Turf. Looks fantastic on TV, especially for night games.

I loved sod in the old days. It's total garbage now. Ames climate not conducive to maintaining a nice field. Looks dull and crappy by late october. I don't understand our love affair with it.

Plus the damn field is muddy in September half the time w/ the rainfall.

We barely escaped a monumental, historic embarrassment vs Drake in 2018. The field was atrocious. geezus people

Waa,Waaa, Waa. If your really serious schedule a meeting with Pollard, and Campbell convince them and offer to write the check.

My daughter was just telling me last night that she was talking to teammates and they suddenly realized that both players and the coach who blew out their ACLs all did it on artificial turf. Nevermind that they spend 25% or less of their practice and game time on artificial turf and the vast majority on grass.

I love grass, but have to say I'm coming around to liking the field turf. I think it's inevitable.

How would you feel about playing golf on artificial turf, Mr. Webb?

I'm ok, so long as it isn't blue or has some goofy parrot head logo on the 50-yard line.

Only $154,000? Seems like a bargain to me. I think the High School my kids went to spent well over a million installing artificial turf.
I love our turf field, when it gets messy, it get s messy for both teams. That horrible artificial field we had in the 80's still makes me wonder how any of the players survived playing on it.

So we're still blaming JTS real grass for almost losing to Drake? Just making sure I'm on the same page.

Kene, our return specialist, had at least three runbacks vs Drake where he could of taken it to the house after he turned the corner---yet wiped-out under his own feet because of the worst Power 5 surface in the country that day--by far. Rewatch the f-ing video of the game for cripes sake.

It's seems most of you were either drunk that day, or spending time drinking overpriced beer in the club area, or have a kid in the turf mgmt program.. So yes-- the field negated our speed drastically---which negated a few scoring opportunities. geezus. not rocket science
