Duffy? In a time of declining readership, they cut one of the few things left that makes the Register unique. Brilliant. How long until the Register is just a collection of AP stories and reader-generated comments?

Has anyone told the Rag that the DM metro area is actually growing in population?

Except the AP doesn't cover much local DM news. I guess that's where the reader-generated content comes in. I can already see some random guy's story about his neighbor leaving junk on his lawn. Ooh, and for sports they can just reprint press releases from the various athletic departments. Imagine all the stories from U of Iowa's athletic department about what great citizens their football players are. I want a cut of the Register's profits when they use my great ideas.

I don't hope anyone loses their job at the dmr....BUT.....as long as people like Basu and Keeler write for them I won't subscribe any longer. If they aren't there I'll probably subscribe again. Doesn't make me classles, just means I won't spend my money on what I consider to be horrible journalism.

One day I woke up, I can't remember when, and I opened the paper I use to read everyday at school and at home on Sundays to found some crazy liberals took it over. This paper was telling me that my midwest values suck and God is dead and we should all love one another (literally) and was telling woman that having an abortion is great!! (ok, I went too far there, but it was fun to write :chatterbox.

But the day I lost it was the Sunday morning when I couldn't find the BIG PEACH....where did that beautiful piece of literature go? Where did Hansen go? Hansen was the best doing sports, simply the best, I miss those innocent days of youth.
