One of the big things missing, that maybe someone with some insight about Matt could help with, is I don't have a clue what Matt A wants in his career.

Does he aspiring to be a head coach? If so this could be a great moment for him in a place he has connections.
Is he looking to build his resume more as an assistant? If so, keep landing recruits and developing players.

Here are three separate posts all from that same guy, in order.

Have faith. He has one [assistant coach] sewn up already.

I have been excited about the AC prospects & probably overstated when I referred to one guy being "wrapped up".

It definitely appears that Matt A will come.

We are speculating about how "in the know" a random message board poster is, but if this guy has any insider knowledge then it does not look good for ISU.

Signs are pointing that way. Have to be happy for the guy if he gets a chance to go back home. But, this would stink if it costs us Diallo.

So how much of UK's roster is expected to be back? That might not be such a bad time to play them.

I would think Tyler Ulis, Devin Booker, Marcus Lee and possibly Dakari Johnson, Alex Pothyrus and Trey Lyles would be back. Plus the 5 or 6 new McDonalds All-Americans.

the only real question is whether Coach Cal will be back. If he is, they'll be loaded.

I see Coach Matt more as an NBA GM. I really hope we can hold on to him. His loyalty to Fred is huge. I really hope he wants to share in Fred's legacy.

Matt A followed Marcus LoVett Jr. recently, who is a big St. John's target. So either it says that, or Iowa State is trying to make a late push for him. Take it as you want.

Matt would be dumb to follow him if it was a St. Johns angle. Fred knows Twitter.

I don't know why, but I always thought Matt wanted to be an NBA guy as well, and would probably follow Fred if he ever went there. Maybe if Matt A leaves that's why, he doesn't see Fred going to the NBA anytime soon. Do I have any facts to legitimize this belief...nope. But if Matt A leaves that's what I'm going with to make myself feel better about the situation.
