Edit: Deleted photo because it started going down the political rabbit hole

The attached image is a FB post from a friend of a friend from Sunday - these types of things float around on social media pretty frequently and it's impossible to know if they're true. I don't directly know the person who posted, but I have talked to a couple people that do know him and they have confirmed the story to be accurate. Keep in mind, this is the same general vicinity a few days after the trucker went missing.

There is also a bank that went under in Sac City a few weeks ago for making bad loans in the trucking industry. I've heard that one of the bankers there committed suicide recently. A LOT of weird things happening in a small area.
Where are you seeing politics in this thread? You deleted it because it was full of ****.

Citizens Bank in Sac City did go under. They were making loans to out of state trucking outfits. No one there committed suicide. And none if it had to do with anything going on with missing truckers. Sorry if I was reading too much into that.

The social media thing about the guy getting harassed on Hwy 20 I've heard both of the sides. Not sure which one is true or not. I'm leaning towards, that the guy on meth was driving all over the road and he got called in and picked up.

Also, it's funny, I have seen 10 or so people on facebook, living in Lake View and Wall Lake talking about going to the alley to their car and seeing someone parked watching them at night. Man I would think the police would be busy as hell trying to figure that out. Only issue, there hasn't been one phone call to police about this stuff.

I know the trucker missing being from the area. I know all the surrounding farm houses and people in the area. Not sure what to think or believe completely. I have a few thoughts knowing his past but that was from 10 plus years ago at least. Regardless, he's a nice guy when you see him around and I hope he's found.

Same. I do have a sharp friend I typically carry with me so I'm completely helpless, although I don't always. Granted it does require something or someone to be somewhat close to me, but again, that's where I fall back of feeling self assured of myself, rightly or wrongly.

But I will never discredit anyone who does. I always tell people, be safe. Its not for me, but I've got a very good friend whose a single mom of 2 young girls living alone , well, as far as an adult, and has a small dog and she does and I've never tried discouraging her from doing that as her biggest fear is caring for her girls. I've gone over a few times and hung out when she felt things were creepy or there was something going on that was odd. Not for a while though and that's okay.

This is going to sound bad but I've got my hands, if anyone were to threaten my life I'd have no problem defending myself and breaking their neck if I needed to.

My prior post about being leary when I pull over with the race hauler late at night meant more of I try to be careful and aware of my surroundings.

So some stats regarding the Missing 411 and overall

---its estimating 600,000 people go missing everywhere in the US, 90% are found (Dead or alive)
US park service does not directly record the number of people who go missing
- The missing 411 details around 1600 disappearances in the parks and in 2017 there were 3400 search and rescue missions alone

---------------
in reading up on these two stories, I do have a strange feeling. But then again, I do believe that there is more than meets the eye in the world

Being proactive because there were two quick posts almost immediately that started heading that direction and I have no interest in making it that kind of conversation. Your post pretty much confirms that to be the case, given that you and two of the three others who have liked it have heavy cave presences.

Same. When my mom was around what I used to tell her and she'd fret and what I'd tell her was "sure, ma, there might be someone out there who can kick my A**, but I can tell you and I'll tell them, it's gonna hurt".

Course, I'm the crazy guy who when there is a bump in the night or when the dog would bark crazy at the back of the property at 2 AM, I'm like - Ok, I'll go check" rather than just calling for the dog to come in. People give me crap for wandering off into the night or going to check.....

And always. I always try to be aware of my surroundings. That's the best advice i think for people.

I had this same experience racoon hunting back in the day. We would cross a stream then a minute later there are the steps splashing through the stream or tall grass whatever we went through. Wished we had more than a .22. We never saw a thing but our flashlights were not like what we have today.

Probably being stalked by a Yeti.

Can you quote the posts that were political in nature? I must have missed them. I see posts questioning the authenticity of the FB post story. Calling out the spread of misinformation isn't political.

You joke, but you never know.

Almost every ancient society has stories about similar things in a day and time that preceeded most mass communication and ability to pass along stories globablly.

You really don't think "dispatch" told them to just go ahead and blow a stop sign to see if the bad guy would do it too?

Yep. There is something. There are times we're out walking and Shiloh who can still see but his eyesight isn't even what it used to be, but generally when he goes stiff legged, rigid and snorts - which always has been his sign of agitation of hearing, seeing or smelling or everything - that he doesn't care for - and then he turns around and goes the other way -

I'm no genius but when my 70 pound part shepherd and part lab decides the direction we're going in = nope, I listen

I hope we can keep this thread on the main page as it seems like many are curious about it as well. If something seems out of bounds just hit the report button instead of dragging this down.

I agree. I was actually just going to create a separate thread to keep this one about this, and make it about odd disappearances and stuff because that is something I do try to keep up on . Because there is some really weird stuff that has happened and its hard to explain at times.

And yeah, I didn't want to like the post because it was depressing as heck to think about but sadly, the longer this goes on, the more likely that farmer does find them in the spring which sucks for them and their families

Your statement kind of reminds me of the missing student, Lacina, who was found in one of ISU's barns in the spring, months after he went missing.
