That was a weird time between him and Abel Bolanos being found in Lake LaverneYour statement kind of reminds me of he missing student, Lacina, who was found in one of ISU's barns in the spring, months after he went missing.

I remember all the Smiley Face Killer conspiracies, but I think it seemed pretty clear in retrospect that both probably wandered out in bad weather while intoxicated, passed out, and died from either hypothermia or drowning. That was a weird time between him and Abel Bolanos being found in Lake Laverne
Yep. Its just the sadness of the stats that after a certain amount of time, the outcomes are less than great.Your statement kind of reminds me of the missing student, Lacina, who was found in one of ISU's barns in the spring, months after he went missing.
I call that CF "Smiley Face Killers" era. That was a weird time between him and Abel Bolanos being found in Lake Laverne
Unfortunately that is also possible. It does happen.Maybe they stopped to help someone? Said someone had bad intentions?
Perhaps even the Golden Age of CF. The urban exploring thread?! **CHEFS KISS**I call that CF "Smiley Face Killers" era.
I was thinking the same thing. Maybe something drug (meth) related happening by the site/ area and he walked in on something that he shouldn't have.Based on what I've heard (very little BTW) I feel like this is correct. He may have seen something he shouldn't have or did something. NOTHING CONCRETE though. Take it for what you will.
That urban exploring thread was a goldminePerhaps even the Golden Age of CF. The urban exploring thread?! **CHEFS KISS**
It was on the KCCI websiteI have not seen any details on the Riesberg case anywhere. I do know that flyers distributed early on were looking for him along with his car, but for whatever reason that case has not gotten nearly as much attention.
I have a co-worker who was in the special forces - Green Barret. He tells of a training exercise they did in the Utah desert (mid-80's) where they were supposed to hike like 10 km to simulate getting picked up at a rendezvous point. You'd think so. But I'm telling you, there are some seriously weird disappearances out there. There was a story of this guy who went missing from a snow mobile years back in the NW of the country - there were no steps, no nothing, it was almost like he was straight lifted off the machine and it just stopped.
I don't know if there's the religious after life and don't want to turn the thread into that, but I 100 million percent believe that there is way more going on than what we were aware of. Or told.
Oh wow... that is something. Reminds me a little of Dyatlov Pass incidenct, just with a very different out come.I have a co-worker who was in the special forces - Green Barret. He tells of a training exercise they did in the Utah desert (mid-80's) where they were supposed to hike like 10 km to simulate getting picked up at a rendezvous point.
Start their hike, don't have any observable weird occurrences, ended up 115 miles from their rendezvous point two weeks later.
The really strange part was their group didn't experience the "lost time" as their canteens/ water supplies were still nearly full from when they set out - i.e. they didn't experience being gone for two weeks time. Needless to say when they were asked by the chain of command what happened, the higher ups weren't satisfied until they said they were just messing around and went AWOL for a couple of weeks (which wasn't at all what their actual story was) - his 'team' was split up and each member was assigned to a new team individually.
This sounds like a suicide to me. Somewhat older guy, assumedly single (as his sister - not his wife or child - is the concerned party), would not be surprising given the limited info we have.It was on the KCCI website
Missing Calhoun County man's family says his disappearance doesn't make sense
"This is not like him; he would never ever go missing, he would never miss work. Something is wrong. We need to do something," Mark Riesberg's sister said.www.kcci.com
Just found an article saying that the owners at the Eagle Grove site said they don’t know anything and that Friday afternoon is when they began investigating that area.Did I miss it or has no one that saw him at the Eagle Grove site made a statement or has publicly been removed the investigation???
He wouldn’t have been alone loading his trailer up from the pick up.
You could be right. AS someone who is younger but otherwise similar to him, IDK , might wait to hear more but yes, it could sadly be thatThis sounds like a suicide to me. Somewhat older guy, assumedly single (as his sister - not his wife or child - is the concerned party), would not be surprising given the limited info we have.
This happened to a girl at Tri Delts a couple years ago, found in the parking lot behind the house. Honestly surprised it doesn't happen somewhat often in Ames and other college towns with cold winters.I remember all the Smiley Face Killer conspiracies, but I think it seemed pretty clear in retrospect that both probably wandered out in bad weather while intoxicated, passed out, and died from either hypothermia or drowning.
If that's the case, picking up load of pigs checks out.If they were checking around the FD area, did they check the Top Hat Lounge.
