Yes, but hadn't heard the Stoops stuff heat up prior to our taping that.

I really didn't think that Stoops would be a realistic candidate, because a few years back when KF was flirting with the Jags, his name came up as possible replacements for Kirk if he would leave, and every insider I spoke with said there was no way Iowa would hire Stoops, due to some on campus baggage from back in the day, and just the loose cannon nature that still seemed in his nature.

But we all can change, and do with time

PERFECT example of Miller stirring the pot. Stoops wasn't good enough for EIU, but would be for ISU. Thanks for all your valuable input Miller. (insert sarcasm pirate here).

Another thing to remember - it's likely NOT Stoops - here is why...

In both coaching searches, it was believed by many (and actually reported by some) that we'd have a different MBB and FB coach than we ended up with.

Almost a guarantee that the first guy announced/rumored to be hired is NOT going to be it. ;)

Very good points...couple that with "instant-ratings" Marty and there you have it.

More KXNO radio personality Bull-Plop.

Mike Stoops does nothing at all in a relatively weak (other than USC) PAC-10.

No thanks.

I wouldnt put it past them for just stirring things up...its noon locals come back on a 2pm...Joan's show up first.

Just saying....dont believe the hype!

I really don’t care who we hire as long as they run a clean program and win football games but I think the rep on Stoops is that he’s a jerk plus he’s a former Hawkeye; and I’m not overly impressed with his body of work at Arizona. I maybe wrong but I don’t think this hire would gain a lot of excitement among the fan base.

He couldn't win at freaking Arizona with a lot of built in positives.....he is not going to win at ISU.

it would be a big 'no thank you' on my ticket renewal

This is dead on. The guy doesnt have anything they felt beat to the punch with the Fulmer deal this morning and all he does is spit out some garbage like the Arizona coach coming to ISU. Seriously, Mike Stoops is NOT a good coach. Let me say it again, he sucks. The PAC-10 was weak this year, they should have won a lot more games, and he should have had 4-5 star recruits non-stop into that place if he was a good coach. I dont care if they have a basketball program, he was hired to make it a football school as well. I just dont think he is the right fit.

Patterson
Fulmer
Gill

Each one of those guys will take $2mil or more to get it done. We will see what Pollard has up his sleeve. I gotta say though, it is exciting if all these coaches are interested in coming here.

Guess I don't see it. Stoops barely survived this year in the Pac-10 and that conference was pretty bad. Just looking at their commit list, it isn't all that much better than ours and that place is warm year round and right next to California. I'd rather have Loney than Stoops.

Mike Stoops would be a terrific hire, IMO. What if it's Stoops, but Mark, not Mike.

I REALLY hope this is the case. Mark is the only somewhat likeable one of the group. This would be Chizik all over again, first of all, people will be laughing at us, not only for losing a coach but hiring another failing head coach. Mike Stoops is keeps everyone at arms length, just like Chizik, doesn't work with the High Schools, like Chizik, doesn't do community events, like Chizik... This better be the smokescreen...

Mike Stoops is 23-33 in 5 seasons at Arizona. 16-25 in the Pac 10.

His only winning season is this year, at 7-5 and 5-4.

We need a WINNER, not an ugly little sister.
