i'm gonna lay it. I think this maybe an addition by subtraction situation. Don't think Prohm suspends a guy until he has some winnables on the schedule. This is gonna be a track meet. Don't need McKay to win track meet games.

I sure hope they aren't coming in with a track meet attitude. OSU just beat Kansas there a couple weeks ago. It's going to be a hard game, but with 5 guys chasing loose balls and making an extra pass it will have a positive Cyclone outcome.

Re: Not traveling to OSU??

Eat crow.... so quick to judge and criticize. Now we learn 8bitnes was right. Do the right thing and apologize.

There's no need for CycloneErik to apologize. Being right and doing right are two different things. Yes, I was right about the scoop and he was wrong. At the same time, did I have to post it or would it have been better that I waited the 3 to possibly 18 hours before it became public? I have a feeling waiting would have been better.

The bandaid is ripped off this way, but it also led to Jameel's mom on the phone with the AmesTrib, CSP fielding questions the night before the game, Jameel tweeting and e-mailing media, and this thread where 4 different head coaches have been posted about negatively as well as many former players.

This thread needs to die and we all need to get back to cheering for the Cyclones. Go State!

Let's not be adults about this, man. Or should I say, dooty-face?

Regarding those last two paragraphs, you couldn't be more right. This is a terrible distraction for the team. That's clearly not your fault, of course. This news was going to break on its own. These guys need to dig deep and overcome this thing about right now. It looks like McKay just wiped things out for us today so far.

Re: Not traveling to OSU??

Fran may have been sending a message to JM. Paraphrasing, not all inclusive-

*Play like the Iowa game
*Don't worry about getting touches, playing time and focal point
*Don't worry about the NBA
*Prohm should sit him at least two games for contradicting the "indefinite"

Essentially, many of the comments on here. Hopefully, he takes heed. With the number of games he has called over the years, and what appears to be a sincere appreciation for the program, seems more than just color commentary but a potentially a message for a young man.

Re: Not traveling to OSU??

Georges has done everything in his power to be a responsible team leader, but Jameel’s attitude and actions have poisoned the team chemistry and comradery emotionally exhausting Georges and other team members. It’s said that details of Jameel’s dysfunctional behavior have reached far beyond ISU and are viewed so negatively as to impact future opportunities. A 30 pound heavier superstar may be able to get away with those actions, but Jameel is not that man.

That matches what my source told me earlier this week, which was that the source didn't think Jameel was going to be on the team much longer. There was no way I was going to post that at the time though.
Thanks for showing good judgement/decision making although that is not required on here - hell it may even get a swing from the ban hammer.

Late in game I'm happy Fran F called out McKay-- saying ISU will need him to go far in the tourney, but won't go far with McKay if he doesn't BUY-IN

If he doesn't come back with a 100% good attitude, then he needs to sit. We can't risk it blowing up at the wrong time, i.e. the NCAAs.

I noticed that too. Thanks Fran, I was hoping you would do that. Fran's smart, he knew McKay would be watching and wanted to send a message to him.

I hope McKay takes it to heart. He's not big enough or good enough to keep on with the attitude and still get NBA looks.
