I would minimize the importance of where he plays HS ball. He'll be playing AAU and doing camps non stop after the end of the HS season thru next late Fall.

That sir is correct. He will see plenty of competition in the off season. That won't help too much as Ames cakewalks through the rest of the tourney and all of next season, but it will keep him sharp. I would love to see Ames as a team play some of the other top schools in the country just to see how good they really are. There is not a team in Iowa that can touch them right now.

Marty and Miller's latest shtick is bashing ISU/Pollard with Miller playing the heavy the last couple of weeks. This will continue until they attend some form of ISU function or have Pollard on the radio at which time they will be smooching Jaime's behind. Nothing new here...trump up UNI and the positives of the future of Hawk bball and degrading a program that is down to rile their fans.

I will have to admit it is better than listening to them drone on about gambling. horse racing, hockey, past failed marriages, pet cats, Broncos, Patriots and the East coast.

Only a matter of time until Marty cannot keep his trap shut or has a ill-advised scheme blow resulting in losing his job. Which will leave 'mr personality' Miller to go it alone which will lead to the show's demise.

Guys by the name of Lafrentz, Collison and Heinrich did alright in college with their h.s. schedules. Its not like HB is trying to make the leap to the pros.

I dont think I've ever heard of a metro team playing out of state during the season. I dont think the school it self could they'd have to budget a year in advance for it. Maybe a private school but not a public schoo.

Alot of those tournaments pay for the team to come out since they get television money...

I still think the Energy people need to get on the phone and bring Hurley's team out or another top prospects team to play at the Well...

That is kind of a stupid theory. If Jake Sullivan is looking out for Harrison's best interests, he would be advising him to stay at Ames. It is not like Duke would pull the 'ship or anything.

On a side note, I went to the Ames game last night in Ankeny. Harrison didn't score much, but you can really tell he is a man among boys out there. He has long, long arms. I know that Doug McDermott is getting some low to mid major D-1 looks......we should really hope he decides to walk on for his Dad. He actually could develop into a player for us. He led Ames in scoring (not sure why he doesn't start). He had probably the best play of the game in the first half. He hit 2 3's. He seems to have a nose for the basketball and is always in the middle of the action. He missed a couple of tip ins (that were pretty tough) that he probably could make if he was a tiny bit stronger. I was seriously impressed by him.

So...keep in mind the source, but Marty and Miller were "reporting" rumors that Harrison Barnes will attend a prep school next year. I believe they said it would be Oak Hill. They were suggesting that Duke wanted him to do it.

Also, they did a terrible interview with the UNI baseball coach. Marty spent the whole interview explaining to him why no one cared about collegiate baseball (which may be true, but was incredibly abrasive/again nothing new).

Like I have said all along, if he was going to ISU he would have said already. If not he is going to hold off as long as possible to announce so he doesn't have to hear about it around town and in school and now this fits in as he won't have to hear about it next year if he isn't here.

Because the team is that talented that the 6th man in is holding offers. He started when Bubu had his academic snafu, but with Bubu in the rotation the way things set-up Doug comes in off the bench.

I don't think so. If ISU was a definite no he would come out and say so. He spends too much time with the team and McDermot's to pull some sort of hide and seek. He would also let Coach know at least privately so Greg could fill the 'ship with someone else.

I was unfortunately listening to M&M during this latest rant. I love the fact that at the beginning that Marty had heard good sources that Harrison was going to go. Everyone they asked said that it was the first they've heard about it. I think this was just Marty thinking that maybe Harrison could benefit from it and suddenly in his mind it was already a done deal. I'm beginning to think his sources are that other voice in his head.

1. Marty said, Stoops was going to be the next head coach...wrong!
2. Both of them said, an O-linemen from Texas was going to leave after Chiz left....wrong
3. They know where HB is going....wrong
4. I could go on and on...
It's a pattern with these bozos... they don't know s*** about what is going on. The best thing to do is turn them off.

Marty/Miller

I've noticed a few posts today about M&M and things they have said. Keep in mind that these guys have no credibility. Here are some examples from the last ISU football search.

"We HAVE THE source on this search, that I can tell you.
I’d say KxNO has a big chance to break this story…we are working it. Kenny Miller has very good ties to ISU insiders and
these people are not blowhards
"

This is after I told them they were idiots and didn't have a clue who the coach was going to be.

" you’re wrong and bitter…we WILL break this story, repeat will break it"

This was on their web site
about an hour after they were saying that Gill was going to be the new head coach.

" ISU AD HAS STRUCK OUT WITH TURNER GILL!"

This was on their web site

" Marty & Miller and KXnO.com and 62andeven have learned that ISU AD Jamie Pollard is ‘actively’
negotiating with Arizona head coach Mike Stoops about the ISU head coaching job
"

In the end, they didn't break the story and never had a clue. They kept throwing out names and they were never close. The same thing has happened with nearly every coaching seach. They always think they have some inside source (aka the dentist). I think they actually did break one story but it may have been mens volleyball.

The same thing happened with every media outlet in town. Remember Keith Murphy going on the air with the breaking news that Pollard was going to hire Brian Kelly? Pollard is very good at keeping things hush-hush.

How many other schools are going to accuse us of cheating when Barnes commits to the good guys? It sure will be entertaining...

Did I just hear a glass is half full type comment out of you?

So far Jamie has shown us the basement in both football and basketball so....You could be rite on...MARTY COULD BE AN IDIOT......:biglaugh:

Or how the Iowa Chops were "lying about their attendance" and the only reason Marty brought this up is because they are outdrawing his employer, the Energy.

He might not pick ISU...but he sure as heck will be in Ames next year for school.
