This is GREAT for Miami and I am really excited. Miami is my 2nd favorite team behind ISU. I was getting frustrated at their search taking so long but it ended up working out really well.

Couldn't believe the news when GA let him go. I guess just like Nebraska 9 wins isn't good enough for Georgia. Although Richt did have alot of players with off the field issues.

I think it was just that Richt was a lot stricter than most SEC coaches, a lot of the guys he booted from Georgia ended up playing at other SEC schools. He's a good coach, we'll see how he fits in Miami. They are in somewhat of a weird situation that they have a very successful past but the school is reluctant to embrace it due to the off the field issues that came with it.

I think we'll start to see a Miami resurgence pretty soon here. If I were a recruit, I'd be drawn to the remodeled stadium:

Is the crazy new roof supposed to help hide the 40,000 empty seats at all of their games?

By far the best hire of the coaching carousel in terms of both coaching talent and fit. Richt goes back to his alma mater but doesn't have to leave his recruiting footprint at all. That really couldn't have worked out better for Miami.

I think Georgia is crazy to get rid of him but I will say the SEC East hasn't exactly been the juggernaut that the West has been. I can see people getting restless when Florida and Tennessee have struggle so much lately and Georgia hasn't exactly capitalized.

Hey, they start winning big games again, the fans will be back in droves. Recruiting will never be a problem there.

The only problem is that their recruiting is under a microscope now. ANY shady stuff is more likely to be spotted and blown out of proportion.

Richt has a good chance to do a LOT at Miami though.
