This is a "Just saying" post but it was said smart(dumb) had his hand stepped on.

If you look close, it does look like Smart's hand might have been stepped on, but it doesn't look like the fan was trying to.

Don't know how to link a tweet, but Gottlieb retweeted that what the fan said wasn't racist or vulgar.

According to Doug Gottlieb, on twitter, he knows a guy that is friends with the fan. The fan texted friend that he did say something he shouldn't have, but that it wasn't vulger or the N-word.

Edit: I'm slow.

I'm skeptical that something not vulgar or racist would set someone off like that. Not saying it isn't possible, but still.

Looks like Melvin, Marcus Foster, and Smart took a lot of ESPN time on sports center tonight.

Melvin bumped the Hoks from number one lead story also.

One thing we're overlooking in this is the lady next to the fat guy who could only hold her mouth open and point at Smart. Legend has it she's still pointing to this day.

Poor Hawkeye fans just cannot get a break.

I skipped quite a few pages... has anyone mentioned Doug Gottlieb's tweets? He is stating that the TT fan did not call Smart anything bad. "Oh, why would he push the guy then" you ask? Because HE JUST LOST TO TEXAS TECH!! That, and he is a d-bag.
I don't really buy that. The fan either said something really bad, or smart thought. You can tell by the way he quickly turns around and goes up to the guy.

I'm curious if there is a legal precedent that reduces the penalty for assault based on what was said? Serious question, and no, I am not saying it was an assault.

I'm sure there are some out there. Adrian Clayborn would be the only one I actually know about, although that case also had other mitigating circumstances.
