The Rickman v Rickman matchup is a shame. His Sheriff of Nottingham performance is super underrated. I still quote some of his lines from that movie to this day. Unfortunately, it's up against his even more iconic villain.

Behind you
My hunch is Misery is too obscure, and I think any of the Star Wars big bads will be tough to take down.
Bill Lumbergh > Annie Wilkes as a villain is ridiculous.

Same with Jabba > Anton Chigurh.

Agree with you, lots of voters probably just haven't seen Misery or No Country for Old Men.

It depends on criteria. If it’s level of evil obviously Lumbergh is eliminated. If it’s identifying with any of our personal life villains he’d be the 1 seed.

Jabba is a pretty straight forward villain where the mafia leaders in most films are the anti-hero (none of the goodfellas or godfather gangsters are here). He murders slaves without remorse, enslaves two of our heroes, tries to kill all the heroes, and kind of sexually assaults one he put in a metal bikini.

I almost voted your way because I love both those books and films, but then I actually voted the other way. Honestly I’d probably rank all 4 films 8/10. Maybe misery and office space 7/10.

My beef with the voters are people who think agent smith is better than real life alien David Bowie.

I've never seen Misery but understand your point. I can justify Bill Lumbergh as being more real. Tons of people can relate to him as a villain because they've had a Bill Lumbergh in their life. Annie Wilkes is infinitely more evil, but very few people can relate to that kind of villain. I think that makes Bill a huge cinderella.

That plus I think his performance is incredible.

Its just a Movie Villain tournament. Not Most Evil Movie villain or best performance as a movie villain or most attractive movie villain. That gives a lot of leeway into how people vote. I love it.
