Condon just claimed that Iowa/Minnesota is a bigger deal in the Mason City area (he’s from Osage) than CyHawk.

That is absolutely not true. Minnesota fans don’t care, and there aren’t any there anyhow. Plenty of Cyclones though.

He’s just projecting his desire for the game to mean less
Well, as someone who was in the Iowa Hawk shop with my oldest doing orientation, I can confirm that the only shirts that referenced any opponent were the "Beat State" shirts. Nothing referencing Wisconsin, Minnesota or Nebraska.

I'm sure Iowa fans that are over 40 that live in Western Iowa might care more about Nebraska based on all the coverage Nebraska got there, especially in the 90s. But otherwise, it's just Iowa radio clowns talking nonsense.

I grew up in the 712 in the 90's. There were Nebraska fans, a few Florida State fans, and us Iowa State fans.

I can think of literally 2 Hawk fans I knew of in my entire school.

Now it's a few oddball Nebraska fans, a lot of Hawk fans, and the Iowa State Fans. Probably see more ISU than in the past, but mostly just the Walmart fans who bought new shirts.

Iowa Radio Clowns is a redundant statement.

I heard just a couple of minutes of Miller and Condon, I heard just a bit of the We Will getting the money. I did not hear them bash it. I did hear them talk about how things have changed vs a few years back with NIL, legalized gambling and that a casino would be writing a check to universities to basically pay players. Very different times is what they said. So how did Miller and Condon bash this? Is this another time where someone interprets things WAY wrong and then throws out falsehoods on here? I sincerely didn't hear the whole part so let us all know.

Yeah that’s exactly what happened, the constant sniveling woe is me attitude on this site is nauseating.

I kind of thought so, it's been called out in this thread multiple times with the same offender.
Compare their response to the Hok collective taking money from sportsbooks. That’s all I ask. Especially Condon.

You mean the exact same response as today? They basically just said “what a difference a year makes.” Same as they did when Iowa got their’s.

I'm literally right here...:p
In all seriousness.

Of the UNI-first crowd (the 3500-4000 that reliably show up to everything UNI), it's a pretty even three way split between:
1) Iowa
2) Iowa State
3) I just cheer for the state.

20 years ago? Yeah, 90% Iowa but that tide has really turned.

So....Miller and Condon didn't bash anything, got it. Perceived slight is what we have here. You should go edit your post saying the move was bashed by M&C.

If you expand that to UNI grads/casual fans (don't necessarily show up), it's gotta be a higher percentage on Iowa. At least that's still my experience to this day (though I admit I don't know thousands of UNI fans).

I'm with you there. That group is probably closer to a 75/25 split.

My obnoxious Pantherhawk neighbor attended UNI cause he hates the University of Iowa and loves his Hawkeyes, sent all three kids to UNI too. He was pretty relieved in the UNI field goal fiasco result.
