Except most in this industry and any other business for that matter won't leave 35K pieces of inventory priced where it will never sell...
You can try to sell at the highest price possible but you can't just set them at that price point and not move any. This is beyond ridiculous from a conference peer and from a business perspective. Unless of course their strategy all along has been to try and keep ISU fans out of Arrowhead. which they will also fail at doing...
Their job is to maximize revenue.

Ripping off the ISU fans who bought through ISU is guaranteeing your return on crappy seats.

Selling to the ISU fans better seats at a higher price let's them double down.

Everyone is playing chicken. The venue is holding out knowing some people will panic buy at higher prices. Many ISU fans are holding out knowing the venue has to drop prices at some point or the inventory doesn't move.

The biggest question is who is holding the inventory. It's possible the holder of the inventory has little incentive to actually move it depending on whose pockets are being lined. KU doesn't want to play a road game.

That picture doesn’t tell a damn thing about maximizing revenue. I guarantee the professionals calling the shots in the background know a hell of a lot more about this than the people posting in this thread. They're waiting for ISU fans to blink just like ISU fans are waiting on them to blink. That IS trying to maximize the revenue. Giving them away just because of some fans who want great seats without paying what the seller believes is a fair price for them doesn't mean they aren't trying to maximize revenue.

And if KU is keeping the money, they likely DON'T want to maximize revenue or they're playing a road game.

Some may call me a "professional" but sometimes professional opinions don't always align. Also, there are times where professionals simply have different strategies.

I think that was a pretty fair assumption to make. Stuffing visitors in the upper corner of a large stadium KU knew would be half empty is a pretty big d!ck move.
Also a pretty common KU move against ISU. From what I've read, they aren't being so stingy with the other teams playing them at Arrowhead.

KU has a bunch of bills to pay. They need to maximize revenue any way possible. They could not care less in who buys the ticket so much that it sells.

So, you think ISU fans aren’t buying the tickets because they think the unsold seats will be sold at a discount over the next day or 2? Or some sort of Buy 1, Get 1 free promo? Doesn’t seem likely to me. Maybe the resell tickets will drop, but there arent many of those.

I’m holding out until Friday. Regardless I’ll let gravity direct my feet to the lower level once the game starts.

I may be remembering wrong, but I think Kansas actually pays less to Arrowhead if fewer people buy tickets.

This! I think the best strategy is to continue to wait. What's the harm in waiting; there appears to be none? The inventory is so massive with 30K open seats that KU could move later in the week to lower prices. If they don't what harm to a potential buyer to wait until the last minute (Friday or Saturday to buy). I see none other than maybe losing a few rows in a section to the ISU panic buyers who bought at exorbitant prices. I think the best bet for an ISU fan is to continue to wait to buy at the last minute.

Question for all of the holdouts.

If you could get tickets close to the Iowa State section (1 section closer to midfield) for under $64 each all in would you take that now?

You're describing exactly what I'm doing right now. The prices will crater at some point later this week if they want anybody to show up. A $20 change in seat price could turn into thousands gained in sales in a heartbeat. They already know where these break points in sales/prices are.

I pulled the trigger on 2 in 304 for $48 each. $26 in fees each. But now I don't have to worry about it and was going to pay for the ISU tickets when it came out. So I'm guessing I still saved money. Plus I'm in a Suite for the Chiefs on Sunday so I'm pretty happy to have the weekend budget fixed. Celebrating my son turning 21.

This isnt how UNLV did it though. There were a ton of lower corner seats sold to ISU for that game and thats for Allegiant which is their normal home field.

They also didnt open up the entire balcony for sale until other sections sold out. The drama was whether they would open more or not and at what price.

I think a better option for Kansas would have been to had 2 tiers with higher price option for guaranteed lowers and been clear about the $110 tickets being upper corner.
Seats for the Vegas game was crazy, I called out and got on their list to purchase group block. They said I had to get 20 and they "thought" a second section would open up in the upper deck. I waited and kept in contact every week or two and they finally called and said we could get 20 seats down in the lower corner.

Total pain in the ass.

And i bought 3 of those from you.

KU is trying to do the same thing. Very disappointing if you ask me.
