Kempt was a scholarship recipient at Oregon State out of high school. Redshirted first year. On roster 2nd year as RS Freshman. Then a coaching change. Kempt informed that he was not a part of new coaching staff’s plans. Kempt transferred to Juco. Then walked on at Iowa State.

This explains things better.

This in itself is not reason for a 6th year. There's more to the story. He committed to Butch Jones @ Cincinnati April 2, 2012. Butch left Dec 7, 2012 and was replaced by Tommy Tuberville Dec 8, 2012. Tommy was renigging on some of Jones's commits. Kyle found out Tommy was bringing in his QB and decommited Dec 17, 2012 so he could reopen his recruitment. He commited to Oregon State Jan 26, 2013 and signed Feb 6, 2013. Redshirts for the 2013-2014 year. Fall of 2014 on squad. Dec 4, 2014 Mike Riley leaves and Dec 10, 2014 Gary Anderson takes over. After Anderson tells Kyle he won't fit his system, Kyle does not enroll for spring 2015 classes. July 2015 transfers to Hitchinson CC for 1 semester. Nov 29, 2015 Matt Campbell announced ISU head coach. Kyle enrolls at ISU for Spring 2016 classes. So 1.5 years at Oregon State(1 being a redshirt year), 0.5 years at Hutch and 2 years at Iowa State through Dec 2017. So who knows how the NCAA will look at this? He has actually only been on teams for 4 years, but his 5 year window will be up in fall of 2018. Will the NCAA rule the runoff enough to give him an extra semester (fall of 2018)?

So I don’t have an issue with their timeline of not making a decision so much. Personally I think it should have been made but it isn’t totally unreasonable. MY issue at this point is it has been over a month since they said we might hear about this. If it’s going to be a while fine but tell us that.

Maybe they are waiting to see how Cam Lard works out? They were so quick on his they think we need to pay on Kempt.

The priority of events:
1. Humans land on Mars
2. Teleportation, reasonably affordable
3. Berkshire Hathaway single share worth $5 million
4. Tom Brady wins Super Bowl CII
5. Decision issued on Kyle Kempt 6th year
