The weekned ISU plays KSU in KC the Cheies area at home and there is a NASCAR race in addition to our game. Hotels are filling fast, plus most on SW side are jacking up prices. If you still need rooms I'd suggst getting on phone. We just booked at America's Best Value. (2 KC area locations) My wife said they were $69/night but I'm not sure is that is before or after taxes.

Maybe I wasn't looking in the right places a couple of months ago when checking into getting a couple of rooms. I was shut out.

I'm making the trip on the DM Cyclone Club bus. It was a "little" pricey, but the bus takes us down there, we get two nights in a motel and the bus takes us back. Considering gas prices, maybe the cost of an OWI charge  and such, the price was well worth it. Plus I get to meet a lot of good Cyclone fans.

If you have trouble finding a hotel in KC, look into Independence. That's where I live. Arrowhead is right near the KC/Independence line. Noland Road has several hotels (some nicer than others, avoid the American Inn!) and is less than 10 minutes from the stadium. Plus there is a lot of shopping and dining available there.

Whew! Thanks for the advice. Luckily the Tiki Hut Rent By The Hour Hotel still had rooms for our group!

And, it's by a rusty skillet!

If you have to, you can always sleep in your car in a parking lot. That's what a friend and I did for the Houston Bowl. When we went down there, our hotel room was jam packed with people, so we just decided to stay in the car. It was actually pretty comfortable, especially when you "pass" out.

My wife and I are staying in Independence because it looked like there is a nice area around our hotel for shopping and eating. My wife likes to shop and I like to eat. Our room was kind of pricey but we are making a little vacation out of it.

I've got family members that live in KC...

cstrunk, is that Zaid Abdul-Aziz in your photo?? My favorite basketball player ever at ISU!! When I was a kid I was standing in the armory where the team went into the locker room and he stopped and talked to me after a game. Then I never met him again till about three years ago.

Noland Road is where we are staying at the Quality Inn... Got the last King Size bed room for Sat night last week. Only problem it was pricey. Think we spent $129 for the night.

We have other friends staying there so we just went with the flow. Good thing the game is late enough we can drive down that morning.

Anyone else staying there????

I love how close it is to the Stadium..

Booked mine in January, Hotwire.com. Mine was 49 bucks a night for the Sheraton across the highway from Arrowhead/Kauffman. May want to check into that as I saw a lot of cyclone fans on here took my advice and snatched up some rooms for that. I hope it turns into Cyclone Central down there.

We are staying at the Quality inn and suites also, I booked months ago and out rates were $89 I think, I know of about 17 rooms booked at that hotel from Cyclone Fans I Know, so for a Hotel with 85 rooms it should be ISU heavy and a great time.

I have a soccer tournamnet in the KC area on the 3rd and 4th  I'm going to get "lost" for about 3-4 hours. It's going to be great.

That was the Centennial Celebration game. He hung out with a good chunk of Cyclone Alley before (during?) the game. Really cool dude.

Back on topic...I've got a buddy who works for MODoT in KC. Road trips are always better when you don't have to buy a hotel.

Just booked some cabins for our group at Worlds of Fun. They have cabins and cottages that sleep 6 to 8 for $129 a night. They have a microwave, fridge, gas grill, 2 tvs. One double bed and two futons plus a loft. Only 9 miles from Arrowhead.
