They get paid cash for RB if not ISU. Free rent=nil.True, but players already get room and board, they want cash to be a spokeperson for something, unless the large donor has a business interest, like the guy that is funding 10 mil at Miami.

Oh it's CyTown forever. I didn't like it, but now is an afterthought. If it's a destination on gamedays, couldn't care less about the name.Is “CyTown” the official name for the entertainment district, or will it wind up being known as something a bit less hokey? Maybe something like “Trice Village”. Anything sounds better than CyTown. Hopefully naming rights won’t be sold to the Moon Family.
I think it'll be heavily mixed usage.Oh it's CyTown forever. I didn't like it, but now is an afterthought. If it's a destination on gamedays, couldn't care less about the name.
Somewhat related, but a lot of my friends who go to Iowa games go to a lot where they pay $30 and get access to essentially a community tailgate. Drinks, games, TVs, etc. It would be nice if ISU had something like that for people like me who come back for one game and no longer have tailgating connections. I've tried to recruit friends to set up our own in public lots, but it's a hassle, and to have something already set up would be an easier pitch. I'm hoping CyTown can become an option in that regard. To be honest, I'm not super up to date on if CyTown is focused on ISU gamedays or more of a community development.
If I get married again, it’s gonna be in JTS on the 50 yard and Cy is officiating. You’re all invited.I think it'll be heavily mixed usage.
TBH, I think it's going to be great for weddings. I've been to weddings at CY, MU, Alumni, Gateway, and Cytown would have been a great spot for rehearsal dinner/post wedding drinks.
As if oodles of us here didn’t watch for weeks in rapt fascination as dirt was slowly added to (and graded on) the North hillsides. For dirt work and underground infrastructure improvements??
Must be a Civil Engineer...
After a few beers you could have some epic King of the Mountain contests
Right ... but this is a *parking lot* we're talking about hereAs if oodles of us here didn’t watch for weeks in rapt fascination as dirt was slowly added to (and graded on) the North hillsides.
If I remember the sketches, isn’t that the foundation of the eastern buildings?Right ... but this is a *parking lot* we're talking about here
Don't believe so - see the link in post #5075 upthreadIf I remember the sketches, isn’t that the foundation of the eastern buildings?

My apologies if this has already been discussed, but will we be able to tailgate for the spring game in the lots that aren't being torn up yet?
