Agreed. Imagine pulling into the lots at noon for a 3pm Saturday MBB game. Stop in Toppling Goliath for some food and beers. Then head north and catch the end of the 1pm B12 game on the big screen before walking into Hilton. That seems pretty fun to me.
Toppling isn’t happening. Pissing match between AD and Toppling. They are going to Des Moines.

Again for clarification on parking spots. There will actually be more parking spots after CyTown - Jamie clearly stated this.

But! This is because they are changing the stalls from diagonal parking to 90 degree parking. This is more efficient - more stalls in the same space.

However what concerns me is how this will affect the space for talegating. The triangular spaces created by the sawtooth diagonsl parking were prime talegate spaces.

Do not know how it will work with the right angle parking. Hopefully the aisles will be wider to allow for the tens, etc.

Honestly, changing the direction (and I believe adding fire lane painted lines similar to how KSU does it) is going to throw off the folks that tend to take over rows, extend their tents into the driving area, etc.

I’ve had donor parking by Hilton in the past and the 90 degree slots seem to work alright but a lot of people wind up setting up around Hilton instead of the lots. It will be interesting to see how some of those people who drive giant trucks struggle to make them fit.

Idk if I’d say passing match, Toppling just didn’t want to pay the price but I could be wrong. But if the Des Moines location is cheaper, I don’t blame them because it’s probably more profitable even if it’s the same price. I was excited about the possibility though.

TG would being people up from Des Moines year round but I never expected them to end up in CyTown, somewhere closer to Des Moines made more sense to me for TG

The long-running joke on Ames People FB page is that every new development in town *must* involve an Olive Garden...

Personally I'll be disappointed if CyTown doesn't include a requisit auto parts or mattress store.
Dont forget it will also need a nail salon … if we are lucky it will be a premier nail salon.
