So you are saying the other coaches told Harbaugh to take a hit out on Schwartz?I think Harbaugh did the hard shake/slap on purpose. Word spreads quickly in the NFL (the Schwartz sideline "demeanor" doesn't sit well with a lot of people).

He'll be dead by week 9, bank it.So you are saying the other coaches told Harbaugh to take a hit out on Schwartz?
Wow. There's a Lions fan trying to justify that? Now, I am obviously biased here but Harbaugh shakes his hand and then heads off the field. There wasn't any talking going on or anything like that. He wanted no part of anything more than a quick handshake. Then Schwart goes off the deep end.
I guess it shouldn't be too surprising that the bitter ones in this thread are Vikings, Bears, and Cowboys fans - you know, fans of teams that lost to the Lions this year...
Sorry to pop your bubble, but this Cowboys fan thinks that Harbaugh needs to learn to do his celebrating before and after the handshake with his peer coach, not during. Sure, Schwartz' reaction was way over the top, but it never would have happened if Harbaugh would have shown a little restraint while shaking his opponent's hand.
I think its a reach to think that how fans are perceiving this is all about team allegiances.
The first sensible thing you've said, Schwartz' reaction was ridiculously over the top.Fixed that for you. An overzealous handshake is one thing, but chasing another coach down the field, having to be separated from him multiple times is in a totally different category.
Does the "protocol," that Schwartz discussed in his postgame interview, only apply to other coaches?
Your bias is coloring your view of the 'handshake'.Wow. There's a Lions fan trying to justify that? Now, I am obviously biased here but Harbaugh shakes his hand and then heads off the field. bahaha "a little" over the top
Looks like this thing may have started in the 1st quarter when Harbaugh tried to challenge a Detroit TD and was penalized for doing it...Schwartz was yelling, "know the rules Harbaugh" at the 49ers sideline...and apparently cussing...
I think Schwartz is a tool...
