What do think of our coach fist-pumping and the like after big wins?

I love it. I made this very point on the first page of the thread. Love to see emotion in coaches. Don't see a problem with what Harbaugh did. Don't see a problem with what Schwartz did against the Vikings. Only brought it up because Lions fan was talking about Harbaugh being classless for his move, while his own coach does similar stuff. Pointing out the hypocrisy. Schwartz overreacted. That's the take away from this situation.

So your team just lost a hard fought game and the rookie opposing coach comes at you jumping up and down, pulling his shirt up, gives you a huge slap-handshake like he's on your team and you wouldn't be ****** about it? Not to mention it sure looked like something was said to Schwartz as well since there was a little delay in going after Harbaugh. I can guarantee there's 29 other NFL head coaches (maybe even 30, I don't know how well the Harbaughs get along) that would take Schwartz side. This is the first time Harbaugh's been a classless clown in that situation.

Obviously Harbaugh should have just vigorously pumped his fist and shouted "Mother****er!" in the other coaches' face.
Fixed it so that it's actually a good analogy. The more I think about it, what Harbaugh did was pretty douchey. He was basically celebrating while shaking Schwartz's hand. That would annoy the hell out of me, and I've never seen Schwartz do anything like that. But I'll say again, he way overreacted.

Then don't compare a fist pump by Schwartz against the Vikings to what happened today.

PS; I don't agree with what Schwartz did.

Why? It's evidence that Scwartz is just as prone to emotional outbursts as Harbaugh is. It's absolutely appropriate to bring it up, along with his incident with Dez Bryant. Schwartz is an emotional guy who pulls no punches. So is Harbaugh.

Because the exchange today was clearly inappropriate. The other ones not so much.

Hence, please don't compare the two, "six one way, half dozen the other." That is not the case.

says who? I don't have a problem with what Harbaugh did. He was excited. He shook a guy's hand too hard. There was no malice. He didn't give it a second thought, just turned and walked away. Not really a big deal. Schwartz was the guy that made it a big deal.

I'm sure Schwartz didn't think it was a big deal when he did the "mother****er" fist pump. And it wasn't. But it is evidence that he's an emotional coach who has no problem celebrating a big win. Harbaugh is no different. That's how its comparable to today's events, and absolutely appropriate to bring up.

So then, what are you so upset about?

Here's the thing. Harbaugh was excited, they beat a good team in their house. He shouldn't have jumped into Schwartz's lap when he approached him, HOWEVER, Schwartz wouldn't let it go, he continued to go at Harbaugh, he got in his face and looked like a crazed animal. Security officials told him to back up, but the HEAD coach of the Lions failed to back off and continued to scream at Harbaugh well after the handshake. That is unacceptable.

If Schwartz or Lions fans want to call Harbaugh classless, they better take a look at their coach first. It's one thing to shake his hand too hard and another to attack someone.

This. I don't agree with you on much, but you are dead on, on this one. Lions fans have no room to throw out the "classless" claims.

Schwartz should watch the film of himself celebrating their win over the Vikings from earlier this year before he gets mad at another coach.

Jim Schwartz cussing; Lions win @ Vikings - YouTube

Harbaugh's celebration is no worse than that.

That is the statement I have issue with. No doubt nor argument that Schwartz (and Harbaugh for that matter) are emotionally charged coaches. Don't compare the two events.

You can keep saying that, but it doesn't change the fact that they are 100% comparable. Repeating your faulty argument won't make it valid.

I wish Schwartz would've knocked that pos 49r in his eye when he tried to push him away.

This won't be the last "incident" with Schwartz. Any takers for that bet?

Jim Schwartz is a prissy little cry baby. The 49ers just came into your house and did you in. Go back to your corner with your tail between your legs and shut the **** up.

definitely an emotional over-reaction, however that is the type of coach that players will sell out to. when a team collectively wants to go to battle for a coach it can be a powerful dynamic. Schwartz is instilling the same attitude in this team that his Titans' defenses had, which were nasty. not your Detroit team of old.

Schwartz will learn from this and get fined. Detroit will win plenty more games this year...

Coaches like this can also burn out on teams as well, especially if the winning stops.

I think Harbaugh did the hard shake/slap on purpose. Word spreads quickly in the NFL (the Schwartz sideline "demeanor" doesn't sit well with a lot of people).
