It's a little different, though. With "hok," it's an accurate representation of how an entire segment of their fanbase talks. They simply do not pronounce the "w" in Hawk/Hawkeye. Not all of them, mind you, but enough that it's noticeable. So, pointing it out is more like turning a mirror on them, and showing them who they (at least some of them) are.
There's a little more going on there than just "Hawk sounds like Block. Let's call them Blockeyes" which is basically all the "CyClown" thing is.
That said, neither is exactly the pinnacle of humor.
I have to ask - how does one pronounce the "w" in Hawk?
