In the off season? Tell me why he would take a stimulant knowingly to get an edge? And the medscape article I posted answers your question. Yes it still happens. I assumed he was doping and was a BS answer until I saw it was a stimulant he tested positive for.

Don't know why and I don't care.
Tell me that he didn't.

Doesn't make him a villain, just a normal guy like a ton of layers out there.

Then he should have thought of that first. It's not like these things are a mystery to the teams and athletes.

Yeah he made a mistake, clearly and owned up to that part. But I do believe him it was an honest one and he wasn't "cheating" and I don't think he should own up to that as many have suggested because he didn't.

He knew what he was taking, whatever it was. Too many resources available to make that mistake.
He got caught. He has to own it.
In a few months, nobody even remembers or cares.

Also he's the one saying it was a stimulant knowing that the nfl can't say what he tested positive for.

Always trust the one proven guilty.
If he did in fact take a stimulant, which I have no reason to call him a liar, then I believe him because it would not make any logical sense to take one knowingly as it does not give one an advantage in the off season. We won't know.

I didn't realize he could say that without being disputed by the NFL, I took that as fact. Does change it quite a bit from me being fairly confident it was an honest mistake to more of a toss up.
If it weren't Jake Knott I would assume the worst and that he was full of it, but now I guess I don't know. I mean if he was juicing I guess he would say the same thing if no one who knew could dispute it.

I only read the first couple pages. Did we expand to the assumption that he was sticking needles in his *** yet? This was stupid but I highly doubt he was aware that he was taking something illegal.

Do teams not have nutritionists or doctors that he can go over painstakingly every supplement he puts in his body? I'm thinking he probably did what he did knowingly.

The NFL actually provides a supplement hotline for players to call and check whether or not a substance is ok to use. And the emphasis that Chip Kelly places on nutrition and sports science is pretty well documented, so I would guess the Eagles are very disciplined in what they supply to their players.

Which leads me to believe it wasn't an accident. But we'll never know.

Because the name of the game is bigger, faster and stronger. And to get that you have to have an edge. And sometimes a little edge can mean the difference between training hard and going through the motions. My wife takes my ritalin (I have a prescription) and she has boundless energy. I take my ritalin and I can read FERC tariffs without having my mind wander but I don't get the rev.

He had the resources, he lost a bunch of money, yet he's not contesting or fighting or anything. Someone else said it really doesn't matter because in a few months nobody will even remember it unless he gets cut because of it.

Great kid - one of my favorite Cyclones and he had an error in judgement and made a bad decision (either by knowingly taking the supp or for not using all the resources at hand to find the right supp).

Never heard a player take immediate and complete responsibility. It's always the ignorance plea, blame the trainer, blame the dietician, blame the teammates, or use the everybody-does-it excuse. It's never " I knew what I was taking was illegal, but I still chose to take it without anyone asking me to do so"

Why didn't he just say it was aderrall like Tyler Sash?
He said it was a stimulant. Adderall is the strongest stimulant on that list. If it was in a supplement it was likely ephedrine which they often list as ma huang the plant ingredient ephedrine is extracted from.

Fair enough and I agree completely with your conclusion.
