Coach stated on post game program that Lucca's grandparents are in Ames. I take this as a great sign for things to come.

I think there was a message on the board that said Happy 70th Rolph Staiger or something like that, the last name was definitely Staiger though.

Yeah, McD just mentioned on the radio that it was Rolph's B-Day. Wish he could have seen Lucca play.

Our guards looked a lot more comfortable today. I think that is partly because Iowa didn't put as much pressure on them, and also partly because we really pushed the ball and didn't give them much chance to.

If Craig made even half of the shots he should have, it's a blowout. Then agian, Craig missing an easy shot directly resulted in Rahshon Clark havin probably the best dunk we'll see this year.

Best crowd of the year so far. Probably expected given it was Iowa though.

Since we're up in the cheap seats, there are often visiting fans near us. It was funny watching the Hawk fans slump down in their seats. I've never seen so many people pretend to be interested in their cell phones. :biglaugh:

I was really impressed with Garrett tonight. Three steals in, what, two minutes? I hope he sees some more playing time based off of this.

As stated many times during the end of the game in the crowd and in the post game - very good team win. Seniors really led us at th end.

Diante played some nice defense, especially in the 2nd half. I think his play today may have earned him a chance to start. May not happen for a game or two - but I do think it will happen soon.

Craig, gotta make them easy ones buddy. You're close to being a terror on the offensive end.

I don't know why Diante wouldn't get more playing time. He has shown that he runs the offense better than anyone on the team.

There may have been some FB recruits at the game - I'm glad we were able to make a good showing (and win another super-bowl).

The halftime presentation couldn't have hurt anything with recruits.

The ESPN U announcers actually said 4 steals in a row for Diante. Also a couple shots of Lucca and his grandparents, Lucca was cracking a smile at the end when Jiri fouled out and was coming off the floor, but definitley looked sad at not being out there.

Today I saw a team who was very well coached, and made strides of progress over the past week. You could tell McD worked with his team on boxing out and rebounding (as it was needed).

I was most impressed with the improvement of ball movement by our guards, and could also tell McD had some emphasis on this in practice.

I believe we are seeing Garret start to take over Peterson's role, and he is going to be great if he can develop his shot.

I post this mainly because what I saw today was an indicator of us having a great coach, and for people to watch the Drake game, and watch the change in the team. To all of you who are already questioning McD (I saw this all week), I hope you think twice. McD is working with very little, and no coach in the entire NCAA could do anything more with our talent and loss of players.

I give mad props to our Cyclones, and our coaches for a great win, and their hard work.
