Wednesday's Iowa at Iowa State women's basketball game drew the sport's fifth-largest crowd this season.
The Cyclones' 58-44 victory had a paid of attendance of 12,931 at Hilton Coliseum. That is one of six women's basketball games to top a 12,000 turnout this season, according to Monday's weekly tabulation by the University of Wisconsin. The other five were all at Tennessee.
For the season, Iowa State ranks third nationally in attendance with an average of 10,078, trailing No. 1 Tennessee (14,714) and No. 2 Connecticut (10,130).
Among the state's other Division I teams, Iowa ranks 33rd nationally with an average turnout of 2,674 while Drake is averaging 2,505 fans and Northern Iowa 1,143.
