I read somewhere that they expect 10,000 incoming freshmen. There's going to be a lot of freshmen this fall.

I didn't realize our enrollment exceeded Iowa's in '79; I didn't think that had ever happened.

I think Iowa City changing their drinking laws has something to do with it too.
I think this is the case too. A bunch of people from my high school only went to Iowa for the party atmosphere (even though they won't admit it) and all of them blew up on their facebook/twitter account when they announce the change of drinking laws freshman year.

True, I remember hearing that Asian (Chinese, Indian, etc) student enrollment was up quite a bit.

We were at a fundraiser a few years back in Tx in which Mr. Geoffroy spoke of increasing international enrollment as a main strategy in growing ISU. Wife and I spoke out that we would have rather see donations and emphasis be focused on American kids and growing American jobs.

I know, not very PC.
