Is the Big 12 ready for Nick Saban?

This makes no sense whatsoever. Texas in my opinion is a downgrade to Alabama in tradition and excellence. Unless Saban wants a new challenge, then there's no way he goes to Texas.

A new challenge.

Is UT that much of a challenge?

If he wants a challenge he should come to a school like ISU, show that he can get things done without the best talent in the country batting down the school's door before you showed up.

First, let me start by saying that college football is all about greed anymore. He could make the same salary that he is making at Alabama and bring home a much bigger paycheck because TX doesn't have a state income tax. Think about that difference when your making 5-6 million/yr.

Second, if you think we have to bend over now when we play the longhorns.......watch out for a whole new level (of you know what)!!

Texas a challenge? That's got to be one of the easiest jobs in college football. You play in a weaker conference than the SEC, no conference championship, and you can just sit back while all of the top recruits fall in your lap. Also, Saban is greedy and Texas is going to offer him a **** ton of money.

Bring him on, if we're going to lose to Texas every year, we might as well make more money doing it.

Other than serving his ego and a new challenge...no reason to really switch.

If he was interested in challenges he would have stayed at Michigan State. He only goes to Texas if he views that as some career-building move. Winning championships at 3 different schools would surely make him the most successful coach of all time (if he isn't already).

That Bama Bob guy talked about this on the Miller and Brinson show a while back. He said he could see it because at his age, if he had any desire to make one last switch now is the time. And he couldn't see him going to any other school. So really just a matter of circumstance. He will never see another opportunity like this come along, so if there is any part of him that wants a change of scenery this is probably it.

That being said, this whole house hunting thing seems really stupid. How could he allow that kind of distraction during the season. Who knows, maybe he is just trying to gain leverage for a monster contract with Alabama.

I can't believe none of you understand the allure of living in a failed nation! When Nick Saban comes to UT and starts bringing championships back he will be the new leader of the failed nation!

I'll believe it when I see it. He's not going to break anyone's National championship record of he keeps switching schools. Other than setting a record, what does he have left to prove?

Maybe he likes challenges. Maybe he is scared of aTm.

This! Saban is just ego-centered enough to see that he could probably have Texas in the NC game within 2-3 years. He'll get bigtime $$ (probably name his price), tons of recruiting prowess, and easier means to National Title. Plus, if he switches schools, wouldn't his current signee's be able to follow him after sitting out a year?

Texas would be a national title contender from the git-go with him at the helm. They aren't lacking talent...they're lacking a coaching staff with a clue.

Saban's contract is up next year at Alabama. I personally believe he is using his wife to drive around the Hill Country around Austin with a realtor to drive up (double) his contract at Alabama.

True, though the talent would probably still get even better with him there. Texas recruiting + Saban recruiting (if you want to play for a title, he's 100% your best bet) would be a juggernaut before you even get into what Saban will do with that talent.

Maybe she is with her realtor boyfriend.

5 More years without NCAA Infractions Committee sniffing around. This DJ Fluker thing is going to end with some sort of sanctions and Alabama is a repeat offender.

This. It's totally under the radar at this point, but it's pretty cut and dried that he took money. There's at least a decent chance that Bama could have wins vacated for games he played in.
