The girls stream games for free on their website and IPTV also streams live.
The boys quarter-final and semi-final games are streamed on IHSSN but you have to pay. The finals are streamed for free.
IPTV only televises the finals on regular television.
The IHSSN uses a network of cable t.v. outlets that air the quarter-finals and semi-finals. Some outlets include Mediacom channel 22. Two outlets TCA and Premier Communications (NW Iowa,Spencer and areas west of there). Absolute TV which serves parts of far s.w. Iowa, far eastern Iowa (Clinton) and towns between Ames,Marshalltown and Iowa Falls. And Aureon which serves a number of small towns and rural areas through out the state including Algona,Cascade,Dunkerton and South Slope Telephone out of North Liberty. If you live in the that area and you have cable t.v. with South Slope the games are on channel 71. All you need to do there is turn on your t.v. to that channel and you can watch.
The finals are aired on t.v. stations across the state including channel 17 in Des Moines.

This above is for the state tourney in Des Moines. Radio stations who want to broadcast games from state are charged a fee of $150 a game. That is the same for both girls and boys games at state. An entity that does video on Facebook or YouTube for a tournament game before the state tourney is also charged a fee. The fee is $400 for girls games and $250 for boys games.

Astonishing how easy it has been to follow girls state Volleyball and Basketball, and how impossible it is to follow boys sports. Seriously, are people paying to stream? I watch more as a curiosity, but I'm not paying for that ****.

I’ve paid to watch wrestling before because I had a nephew wrestling. I’ve paid for baseball because I umpire and I watch damn near every game there. Other sports, no way. It is impressive how easy the girls union makes it compared to the boys side.

Unranked/7-seed Xavier beats #3/2-seed Knoxville in the 3A opener, 52-37.

A.J. Evans with 21, 13, and 4 blocks for Xavier.

OH MY GOD I HAD A TYPO
Totally unacceptable!!!

But I thought maybe there was some sort of way they might adjust brackets if teams had already played or some other weirdness, since it is the boys association.

The south central conference had the no. 1 seed in girls and no. 2 in boys and had a combined one win at state. My guess is each association will not seed the SCC teams that high again for a while.

25-0 Knoxville getting bounced game one is hilarious. Its almost like a 3A school playing in a conference with schools that don't even have a grocery store or fast food place, 25-0 doesn't mean as much? If only they had another conference that fits their size wanting them to join...

Xavier was grossly underseeded in both tournaments. They play up all year, and then in the correct class come tourney time, and it shows.

Xavier's boys played 17 of 21 regular season games against 4A teams.
