Doesn't help that people keep trying to open mexican restaurants there. That market is extremely saturated in Ames. That location is brutal now a days.
Their food was pretty decent actually, but that building should just be torn down before another person can try to start a Mexican restaurant there.Saw where that Celaya TexMex (the old Palma's , La Fuenta, Indian, Italian) ....... closed the doors and place is for lease.
Tough parking lot too.Doesn't help that people keep trying to open mexican restaurants there. That market is extremely saturated in Ames.
I've been there before, but I'm pretty tough.Tough parking lot too.
I have an issue when the police are going around and pulling people out of family tailgates doing ID checksEveryone know the ramifications for underage drinking. If you’re willing to risk it, go for it I guess, but being pissed that it’s getting policed is dumb.

I’m pretty sure in the state of iowa of you are 18 and youre with your parents then its completely legal to drink.I have an issue when the police are going around and pulling people out of family tailgates doing ID checks
Pretty sure you are right.I’m pretty sure in the state of iowa of you are 18 and youre with your parents then its completely legal to drink.
Doesn't that only apply in a private home? (which if that is for sure the case I'm all for getting that changed yesterday)I’m pretty sure in the state of iowa of you are 18 and youre with your parents then its completely legal to drink.
21 is a totally arbitrary drinking age. If you are a legal adult at 18 then you should be legal to have an adult beverage. No one is suggesting that 12 year-olds should be drinking at the tailgates. Sometimes underage college students drink. That isn't some new phenomenon. You mean public family tailgates, where underage/public intoxication would be a public thing?

So in a private home a parent can provide beers to their 14 year old and that's totally legal, but at their tailgate it is illegal for that parent to provide a beer to that child's 20 year old older sibling. Makes sense.3. A person or persons under legal age shall not purchase or attempt to purchase,
consume, or individually or jointly have alcoholic beverages in their possession or control; except in the case of any alcoholic beverage given or dispensed to a person under legal age within a private home and with the knowledge, presence, and consent of the parent or guardian, for beverage or medicinal purposes or as administered to the person by either a physician or dentist for medicinal purposes and except to the extent that a person under legal age may handle alcoholic beverages during the regular course of the person’s employment by a retail alcohol licensee, or wine or beer permittee under this chapter.
According to subsection 3 of Iowa Code section 123.47, parental consent restricted to private home.
Zing! Totally same thing.I can be naked in my house and it’s legal but it’s illegal to do it at a tailgate. Makes sense.
