How would you compare JB to SJ

What about my post screamed huge JB fan. I think what I posted benefited the team. SR getting quality reps to see if he can make throws to our faster veteran receivers and the so-called 3's getting balls thrown to them by our two veteran QB's. Sounds like a win for all.

Im originally from Texas and I know his family. I played college football with his uncle Elzie Barnett at Western Illinois University. I have worked with former Cyclone captain Deandre Jackson in Garland Texas at JB's old high school training players. Jackson was instrumental in convincing JB to come to ISU. I root for him because not many on this board does. Plus, I want him to be successful. I hope there's nothing wrong with that. I think JB has done some great things at ISU including staying out of trouble and dealing with the constant pressure of leading this program. So, yes, I guess that makes him my favorite Cyclone right now. BTW, why do I always get these questions. I never question people on here that have their favorite as an avatar. I hope this helps your understanding.

Glad to have someone on the board who really "knows" JB. It was clear that you were supportive for him. Now we know that you really know what you are talking about him. Keep us informed. And don't get too ticked at all the bantor by people who care more for SJ without really knowing him like you know JB. No one can ever take away the fact that JB was QB for our biggest win ever! I look forward to whomever emerges as #1. Fortunately, Rhoads seems like he is going to be very fair and open in the QB contest.

As far as the fumble thing goes, I seem to recall most of JB's coming from runs downfield where it got poked out while being tackled, which could lead to so many being gathered back in.

SJ's fumbles were killers.

If FBiT gets called out for devotion to JB, why haven't you called out RustShack for his devotion to SJ? That is just as obvious.

Give me the QB who consistently makes plays and doesn't give the game away. That's the guy that will help this team win. They don't have to be spectacular. He hasn't stepped forward, yet. Hopefully one of the two guys we had last year has improved enough to be that guy.

I root for any QB that gives the cyclones the best chance to win whether it be SJ or JB. At this point I believe SR is the #3 and it is pretty much a 2 man battle. I feel that whoever wins the job will have a solid backup because you never know what can happen during the season. I will root for either and will not be too bent out of shape for the runner-up.

IMO one of the largest undefinable factors in this race is the foot injury. We will never be able to ascertain how much this impacted Jantz for sure, but I am betting now that he is healthy his maturation in the other facets of his game improve quite a bit from last year.

I also agree with the many of you who felt JB ran the team better last year. I do however think Jantz will prove to be a more dynamic player in practices between now and the 1st game of this coming season. Not taking anything away from JB, but a healthy Jantz with a full Spring & Fall camp to grow......my money would have to be bet on Jantz.

I just want to say that JB played through a serious injury last season in leading this football team. There's more to it than just the physical and athletic when it comes to QB play. Those of you that say you have inside knowledge of this team know exactly what I'm talking about. It occurred in the KU game. But, he never complained about it or used it as an excuse. This is the first time most of you have heard this. He just went out everyday and worked hard for the team. That's why the players regard him as their leader. That's why they were so upset about what happened in the bowl game. I have nothing against SJ, he's a very good athlete. But, JB is more to these players than that. You can see it in the teams play when he's in the games. They all elevate. Personally, I would rather have the guy that brings the entire team up.

You are incorrect. You don't know this or have any facts to support it.

My eyes tell me all I need to know. One QB had control of the team, one had trouble controlling himself and was beyond mistake prone.

CPR wants consistency. SJ will never provide that IMO.

I want the guy that steps up his game and wins the spot regardless of who it is.

(I believe it will be JB but he'll have to continue to earn it.)

Guys can improve ALOT over off season. Lets see how Steele does in the spring game and then we can talk.

It was very obvious that this was the case. The team is behind JB. I could tell that from the first snap he took.
JB will get the call and I don't think there is much question about that although coaches will play it close to the vest to get the best out of everyone.
If I'm wrong, I'll gladly eat crow, but my opinion is this race is 95% JB starts, 5% SJ starts.

What you have between the ears is god given. SJ is more erratic (which also makes him prone to the bigger play), but CPR wants consistency.
Spring game will not show much of anything, but people will chatter regardless.
