I'm starting to plan my upcoming honeymoon in May. Anybody have any good experiences at any place in particular?

I am thinking South Florida or maybe Hawaii if we can get a good deal. Any ideas would be great. Thanks.

We didn't have alot of cash or time when we got married, so we ended up on one of those timeshare promos. 4 nights in Orlando, 2 night Bermuda cruise, 2 nights in Miami.

I don't recommend it.

We did a vacation to Playa Del Carmen south of Cancun. I highly recommend that.

Key West has a great adult night life, Romantic B&Bs, water, sand and sun. Don't need a car, you can bike, scooter, walk, etc. shopping too.

Went to South Beach. We had very little money but wanted to get away. It was okay. South Beach was pretty dirty (I swear I saw a herpe jumping around) but it was just nice to be on a beach for 5 days.

Take a cruise!!! At least a 7 day or upto a 14 day. In my opinion, it is the best way to see a lot of different places cost-effectively. I would suggest Royal Carribean or Princess Cruise Lines....stay away from Carnival and others as they will feel more like going on Spring Break instead of a honeymoom. You can get some great deals on cruises right now too! Congrats on the impending nuptuals. itsbuck

On the road...
Charleston/Hilton Head/Savannah (SC & GA) area is pretty kick *** in the summer, not over packed plenty to see, especially if you like to golf or just like the beach. Not to mention it's actually pretty romantic. No joke.

I prefer US because we plan to leave on a Monday and have to be back by Saturday. Just don't have a ton of time.

now that you say that, I would really consider Cleveland if I were you!! :jimlad:

a shorter trip like that, you could probably get a really good deal (middle of the week and in the summer you can find some nice resorts for cheap). We went through apple vacations and were more then satisified with price and accomodations. We stayed at the Ocean Blue resort in the Dominican for our honeymoon last summer and it was awesome! I would recommend going out of the country, it's your honeymoon and you only get to do it once!!

I'll take care of the office for ya...go on take a couple more days!

I 2nd Key West if you are in the US.
I strongly suggest Playa Del Carmen Mexico however, I spent months down there and the place is great.

We rented a house (yes a house, not a condo) on the bay in St. Pete Beach, FL for our honeymoon and it was great. Had our own secluded patio on the water with pool and hot tub. Was surprisingly inexpensive in the off-season. If I remember right it was about 1500$ for the week. Only about 20 minutes from Tampa/St Petersburgh if you want to shop/sitesee and also lots of beaches to choose from. Clearwater is just north and is nice as well.
