I hope so, I mean, why not?!

You’re not a real 80’s kid if you didn’t go home and try to make pinchers of power at least one time.

Goonies never say sigh.

I was super excited about Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and while I enjoyed it enough, it was a muddled incoherent mess. It didnt have the charm of the original and wont be in the yearly rotation in October for us. Maybe now and then. I know Hollywood loves hitting my generation with nostalgia hard, but very few of the releases capture the magic. Bravo to the Top Gun team as they nailed it. I just worry this will sour the original Goonies for me. Maybe Ill be surprised.

I've actually thought recently that a Revenge of the Nerds reboot could work. Could.

I've personally felt I've done a good enough job of keeping the originals and their decades' later sequels separate to not get in the way of enjoying the first one.

It's such an interesting case, because the whole spirit of the movie would totally land with Gen Z, but the actual jokes they used 100% would NOT.

It's the reverse Blazing Saddles. People always say "you couldn't make Blazing Saddles today" and there would undeniably be people that wouldn't look past the literal language used and make a scene, but if you actual pay attention to the situations, the message, who's the butt of the jokes, etc, it's 100% a tear down of racism, sexism, and American exceptionalism.

It's really, really hard to recreate the feeling and aura around a classic movie. Most of the time, the inevitable efforts to do so makes it feel formulaic, and like they pasted the classic bits onto the new one (personally, I got a bit of a sense of that with the new Top Gun, but it was still good enough to like it).

I think that Stranger Things kind of launched my brain into thinking, what could work again.

I liked A Christmas Story Christmas, so hopefully this one will work too!

I think Christmas movies lend themselves better to reboots and sequels and years after the original redos.

If it’s true that Spielberg is on board that gives me hope.

There's nothing on IMDB and I checked a couple of the profiles for some of the original actors and don't see anything listed on their upcoming projects

I'm beginning to think this is fake.

How does a movie that hasn't had 1 scene captured on film yet already have an MPAA rating?
