I know this sure changes my mind quite a bit, we've looked awesome against crappy teams but against teams, not so much. The hawkeyes looked good tonight and anyone who watched the game knows it. Yeah extremely low scoring, but their defense was superb and rebounding was outstanding. Cole will dominate the paint all night on us, and basabe looks very solid. I don't think we have anyone that can guard cole, especially not JVB. Maybe im freaking out because iowa has looked bad against bad teams too, but i think there starting to figure it out a bit better, and no doubt there will be a big crowd at the ISU game..

I still think Clones win
ISU-58
Iowa-52

It was a horrible game. If UNI would have played like that against ISU it would have been 30 point win for us. UNI couldn't hit anything.

That has been the problem the past few years vs a lot of teams. They have their best shooting night in years vs ISU. That doesnt to seem to have changed much.

Iowa basketball actually manages to win, at home, against an in-state opponent, only to have it completely overshadowed by the whole DJK deal...

Anyway, it was a terribly dull game to watch, especially when you're already not a big fan of basketball to begin with, as is the case with me.

Iowa must have done something right on defense tonite.

No not really. UNI had a ton of open shots, but clanked most of them.

Iowa did have a lot of nice drives to the basket where they got fouled and made them into 3 point plays. They had that working pretty well.

Iowa won't come close to the NCAA or NIT this year, but it looks like they have a good coach and a lot of youth that could make them relevant again soon.

I think that coldness on their part was in large part due to the D Iowa put on them all night. To not give Iowa that due, is stupid. UNI has no inside game and it showed tonight. I think ISU has that same shortcoming. I feel more confident that Iowa will win. With young teams the home court means a lot. We will see though.

I'll give you Iowa's inside defense was good, but UNI had so many open outside perimiter shots, it wasn't even funny. You give that kind of openess to ISU and we'll eat you up.

Iowa should have blown them out by 20 the way UNI played.

UNI shot poorly against ISU as well. Not quite as poorly as they did against Iowa, but still bad. The difference was the number of offensive rebounds UNI had against ISU and the free throw shooting.

Just our luck both football and bball play are played in IC this year. Hey, can we change this up so we alternate, JP?

UNI had a handful of open 3s that ended up air balls

They both play in Ames next year. What's the difference?

If Iowa wins against ISU, its because Cole has a spectacular game. I'm not sure ISU has an answer for him, but if they do, they should be OK...

JVB, Godfrey and Railey need to be able defend the post without fouling. JVB has had to sit way too much and Railey fouled out in 13 minutes vs. SEMO.

CH Arena has never been very good to us. It'll be tough, but I'm in the wait and see crowd. The Hawks are not a ranked team, and any given Friday...
