Good or bad quite likely ISU will be playing as . . . .#9 in the country.

No way we reach #9, I think we move two spots to #11
Agree with this. I think the max we jump is a couple of spots. Even then that may not happen since nobody other than NW lost in front of us. Jumping Indiana is only if the committee values the road win against a ranked Texas team to be enough value to trump the one less loss the Hoosiers have. As long as Indiana keeps winning they will live off the almost win against Ohio State.

Edit: Also yes with OU not playing and us picking up the win at Texas plus already have beaten OU, maybe they will flip us this week. Remember the committee re-ranks each week as its own week.

I think we pass Oklahoma in addition to Northwestern. There could be another team we leapfrog, but doubt it. We will be 11th.

I agree with you, but I think its optimistic since the committee uses things like the "eye test", which is code for we put brand names higher when records are equal. They should honor the head to head, but I won't hold my breathe.

On ESPN radio today Mel Kiper said he thought Iowa State was underrated in the first rankings and thought maybe the committee was waiting to see how we did against Texas. He thought we should for sure be ahead of OU based on our win head to head. He also thought Miami and Georgia were overrated based on the lack of quality wins.

I think we move up to 8 or 9. Georgia has only one win against a team with a winning record (Auburn). Same with Miami (NC State). Eventually that will get noticed by the committee. ISU has the most impressive wins by any of the teams outside of Bama, Notre Dame,, Clemson and Texas A&M.

1. Alabama
2. Notre Dame
3. Clemson
4. Ohio State
5. Texas A&M
6. Florida
7. Cincinnati
8. Iowa State
9. Georgia
10. Miami
11. Oklahoma
12. Indiana
