FYI - Screen shots will no longer work for ticket entry at games

My phone doesn't have NFC capability (it's a Moto G 5G, so not ancient technology). I'm guessing there will be a significant # of ticket holders for which this is also true. I downloaded the Tix to Google Wallet as I have in previous years, but apparently that won't work. I do have the barcode that refreshes in the app, so I guess I'm good. If I hadn't read this thread carefully, I would have been screwed.

Yeah, this is going to be a clusterfuck.

If you download the tickets to your Google/Apple wallet, you don't need cell/Internet service to access them. The first time I used the wallet I hadn't DOWNLOADED the tickets to it, I was just accessing Ticketmaster thru it, so it was a cluster.

Save/download them and don't use the Ticketmaster link within the wallet, but click your cards (at least on Google), and it will take you to the downloaded version of the tickets. Was literally just able to access them on airplane mode.

If anyone would like step by step instructions with screenshots feel free to shoot me a message, happy to help!

But the code is supposed to change and update every 15 minutes, how does that happen without WiFi or cell service?

It doesn't need to connect to TicketMaster servers to update the code. Its like the 2FA Authenticator Apps that have a time-based one time password (TOTP). The algorithm uses a key/password (shared when tickets were downloaded/saved to the wallet) and the current time to come up with the code.

It's magic, just say magic.

The Chiefs use this at their training camp that required tickets a couple weeks ago. It had the NFC deal where you just held your phone near their reader and they talked. Was pretty easy and quick.

Far be it from me to defend Ticketmaster, a company I would drop a nuclear bomb on in a heartbeat if given the opportunity, but none of this prevents you from selling your ticket on your own and simply transferring it directly to another person (thus bypassing the Ticketmaster secondary market), does it?

It allows them to track your every move.

Ticketmaster collects data on everything then uses that data to bone consumers. It's used for their internal scalping program ("Platinum tickets), where they will hold out hundreds, sometimes thousands of tickets (in the concert world) and release them in batches at insane prices. They can also restrict transfers and WHEN you can transfer. This is important as it prevents the avg Joe from selling on SH and getting paid until after the event takes place. But wait, if you sell on TM you can get paid on your sale quicker!

The ONLY benefit to rotating QRs/no screens is that it cuts down on potential gate issues (less hassles for the staff at the game). TM tries saying it cuts down on scamming but it doesn't. Instead it happens on the front end when someone send money and gets nothing in return. Even still there will be many who will fall for screens or PDFs when the venue has said those won't be accepted.

Enterprise Center in St Louis went that way a year ago as well. Never had an easier, quicker experience getting into a building. It's WAY better than the scanner system especially when you've got more than one ticket on your phone.

FYI, if you don't have a smart phone (like my parents), call the ticket office and they will work with you. They'll probably give you the third degree about whether you have a smartphone or not, but they do understand not everyone does.

Probably need to put it in all caps and post a few more times for those that have trouble reading.
It really is amazing how many times it has been said, then you have the negative Nancy that hates technology ***** about cell service or wifi.

I really hope those that don't understand how phones work or won't adapt to the new age go in an hour early so they can get assistance without holding up others. I mean they could allow the old way as a backup, but then we would never get to where they want to get to. Once we get over the initial issues it should work well.

All that said, I know there will be many people that have old phones that will struggle with keeping a battery charged on gameday when your phone is searching for signals constantly.
