In past years I could not get the app to work when close to the stadium because the Wi-Fi sucks so hard. Can’t wait till there is issues at the UNI game.

So isn't the big logistical problem here the fact that mobile data around the stadium on GameDay is hit and miss at best, and there is no wide scale public wifi available either?

No need for Wifi or cellular connection. Just download them and add to your Google or Apple wallet the night before. Never once had an issue.

I always try to 'save' my tickets to my Google wallet before leaving home. Hopefully this continues to work. All jokes aside it has worked pretty well for me in the past.
Thank all the ******** who sell the same screenshot to ten different people for this. This is a CYA move by Iowa State because they're tired to dealing with complaints on fraudulent tickets.

This is however going to be a mega ***** for people who are used to printing their tickets because they don't have or know how to use a smart phone.

EDIT:
Edited previous text. I isn't reader good.

The best advice on earth is posted above. Google Wallet has been awesome for me.

May want to re-read. The wallets aren't live tickets.

I don't know enough about "live tickets" but if you're saying there's no way to do this without data connectivity we're going to be in trouble.

Ticketmaster and google/apple wallet must have something behind the scenes that makes them work. You can add them to your apple/google wallet and they'll work just fine.

Is the code embedded into the ISU Cyclones app like old school 2FA bank tokens or is a data signal needed? This is going to be a massive disaster if data is required.

"By adding tickets to your mobile wallet, you’ll be able to access them regardless of cell service or internet connection. Also, when you add a SafeTix ticket to your mobile wallet on a phone equipped with near-field communications (NFC), you'll receive an NFC pass, meaning you can simply tap and go at the venue."

Both the athletic department email and Ticketmaster make it pretty clear that adding to your wallet is still completely effective. My only question is, how does tap to enter work if I have both my wife and my tickets on the same device.

Out of my block of tickets, I have had at least 1 person cancel the day of the game twice a season. For those times, I have just sold it outside of the stadium on my way in. Guess I can't do that anymore. This kills nearly any practical secondary market on the day of the game. My cell phone coverage (Verizon) has been non-exsistant nearly anywhere in the tailgating lots and stadium for the past two seasons. The first game of the season is going to be a nightmare, all because Ticketmaster wants to keep ranking in fees off of sales and transfers.

I iz no gud at reading.

I was about to have a stroke over not being able to use my Google Wallet for them to dodge the obvious data issues.

You’ll need to walk in with the person(s) you sold to. Agreed, the walk up need a ticket or have a ticket to sell is more complicated.

And that's completely intentional. Ticketmaster wants to take their cut on every re-sale and don't want scalpers standing outside of stadiums. The honest folks who are selling extras at the last minute get caught in the crossfire.

I see this working flawlessly
You can still save it to Google Wallet. Cheifs tickets have been like this for a couple years, there's a constant bar that runs across the barcode.

Edit: I should read, guess this is a little different but can still use Google Wallet.

Question - If someone just walks up to the will call to buy a ticket the day of the game and the person does not have a cell phone, do they just not get a ticket?

So she will need her own ticketmaster/Cyclone ticket account correct?

I was wondering also and found this in the FAQ:

What if I don't have a smartphone?
Fans can contact the ISU Athletic Ticket Office at 888-478-2925 or [email protected], and they will work with them to determine the best way to get into the game.

What if my phone battery dies on gameday?
Fans will need to visit the ticket office at the venue on gameday and will be required to show a valid photo ID for the name on the ticket account.

  • Jack Trice Stadium ticket office is located inside the Jacobson Building on the north end of the stadium.
  • Hilton Coliseum ticket office is located at the southwest entrance.
What if my guest(s) and I are arriving to the venue at different times?
If arriving at different times, the ticketholder will need to transfer a ticket to each member of a party. This will allow the ticketholder and guest(s) to arrive at the venue at their own convenience. Once the ticket transfer offer has been sent to the guest(s), the guest(s) will receive an email instructing them to accept the tickets. If they do not already have an ISU Athletics Ticket account, they can easily create an account to accept the ticket offer. Once guests have accepted the transfer offer, they should download the ISU Cyclones app to view the tickets.

Does the person I transfer tickets to need an ISU Athletics Ticket Account?
Ultimately, yes. If they do not already have one, they will create one in the acceptance process.

I'm curious how (or if) Google Wallet will work with phones that don't have NFC.
