Spring is really frustrating in Minnesota. It's more like winter is sputtering off and on, it's muddy and then it's summer. Somehow, you have to fit in all the yard and house preparation between snow storms, rain storms, cold weather and kids activities.

What pill are you taking? I'll load up on generic Claritin stuff, and that'll get me through most days, but my pollen allergies are pretty severe. Round II is when the corn starts to tassel.

Yep, generic Claritin for me, but I'm a city boy so I get off light when the corn starts to tassel.

The buzzing of cicadas in late summer/early fall makes me crazy.

Was going to be my post. Imagine this times a few hundred if you live in a place with a bunch of trees

Have to say as much as I love spring and summer and being outdoors the May-June time for me is miserable for allergies if the pollen is heavy.

There are times when the sound of the cicadas is practically deafening.

Try Flonase. It is a real godsend for me in the fall, for my hay fever. Also Zyrtec with it generally makes my life a lot better.

Going out to eat in July/August when it's 95 degrees with 90% humidity and having people you're with suggest getting a table outside since it's summer and obviously it's so much fun eating outside and then sitting there for the next hour with everyone trying to pretend they're not sweltering and miserable.

My neighbors are on older retire couple and they only mow their lawn in the evening. I get that they don't want to do it during the heat of the afternoon but it really kills our deck time, especially when we are grilling or just looking to tie one on.

I have an older neighbor that used to mow his lawn every Saturday at 6:30/7:00am. Like WTF man let me sleep and alteast let the dew get off the grass.

I love late-winter/early spring (March is my favorite month ... yes, I'm an oddball). Spring used to be my favorite season, and I still like a lot of it, but I associate it with having to get my lazy *** going and do early yard cleanup, get the mower prepped, and such.

Not much I "hate" about summer, but I don't embrace it like I once did. Probably I no longer associate it with "summer vacation" since no such thing exists.

Love late-August thru early/mid October. Dislike the end of fall, after the leaves have dropped and it gets dark and depressing outside.

Mosquitoes
I always tell people who are unfamiliar with Minnesota summers that we have two types of mosquitoes here: The little tiny ones who can find their way through the holes in your screen and the great big giant ones who rip the screen door off of its hinges.

Maybe a little bit of hyperbole there...

Only dislike the summer when it's too hot to do much of anything outside.

In winter unless it's like this week you can at least add layers.

I was in northern West Virginia (the chimney of the state) when the 17 year cicadas were out. It was totally unbelievable: the loud and constant sound, the number on the ground (you couldn't walk anywhere without crunching with every step) and the number flying through the air.

I hate when the NASCAR races come to KC and that certain percentage of attendees feel the need to recreate their favorite race moment on the interstate.

Crows or Hawkeyes sqwaking and woodpeckers are my bug-a-boos. I guess even bees for that matter.

Even after shoveling a foot of snow and looking down the barrel of -10°F temps, I still prefer winter to summer.

Sure, there are like 3 days in the Spring where it's nice, not too hot, not too humid. Longer daylight is good.

I hate the dried out brown-ish grass. I hate getting sunburned, and I hate sweating just walking to the car. And I hate it being 150°F in my truck after work.
