Our running back getting hit as Richardson hands the ball to him 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage. Setting the tone that we still can't get a push with our O-Line up front even against FCS opponets.

SBR throws 70 yards down field to Lazard who runs it the rest of the way for the TD.

SBR runs off the field yelling "KOBE"

Punt or kick return gets us to the 50. First offensive play is a straight drop back, good pocket protection, SR throws on the mark for a 40 yard reception and the receiver runs it in for a touchdown. Which receiver? What do you think I am, a fortune teller!

That is scored as a 50 yard TD reception, not a 40 yard one.

Bubble screen. Ball thrown too low. Montgomery makes a guy miss to salvage a -2 yard gain.

Break the huddle and the entire OLine walks up together and they all point downfield - basically calling their shot. Then they proceed to knock the panthers 5 yards off the block each and every play and we run it down their throats. After every play the Oline does the Jim Carrey thrusting motion from his pet detective movie.

Slant that gets tipped up in the air and picked off. Lazard delivers a huge hit after and some fanatics wonder why he isn't on defense.

Same boring *** draw play for a run up the middle...2 yard gain. I'd like to think I was wrong but we've been running the same offense since 2005 in personal opinion.

Barney Cotton would strongly disagree with you.

That being said, he would have run up the gut for no gain as well.

The QC
Tyler Brown loses fumble. UNI scores in 3 plays to make it 7-0. ISU then scores 31 unanswered points and cruises 45-17.

Way up there
After watching Sammy for 3 years, why do people still think the bubble screen or zone read should be in his playbook? He's struggled bigtime with both of those plays his first 3 years, especially the bubble screen, he's fine with zone read when the read is to keep the ball. He struggles when its a handoff read. You can tell he's just a split second slow with that read.

I'd like to see an easy pass play to open things up, giving Sam a couple of easy throws could help him get in a flow, maybe find one of the big WR on a slant. Either that or a play action pass that gets him out of the pocket and gives him the option to run if need be. More than anything, building Sam's confidence is key. When he has a little swagger, he's much more effective.

You used to have seats in the SEZ, didn't you?

No, but I take it someone in that section would call for this play?

I'm a younger alum (2006 grad) so since moving back to Ames in 2012 we've only had Hillside season tickets until this year when we hopped on the SEZ train and purchased tickets there.
