I just want to encourage everyone to just ignore the people who are obviously here for no other reason than to stir crap up. The mods have to deal with this on a case by case basis, but just don't give in. I had a little brother who loved to annoy the crap out of me - if I ignored him, he lost. It just points out how pathetic someone is for coming to a message board to cause trouble if they have to keep trying because everyone ignores them.

I'll be honest with you Angie - speaking from ONLY my perspective. My posts on this site have gone down dramatically in the last few weeks for this very reason. It's gotten boring and no ongoing discussion can be maintained. There are two posters - and my guess is you know exactly who I'm talking about - that are ruining the experience.

I love this site and keep it running in the background all day - but I'm checking in less and less. I've been on a lot this weekend to see the discussion of the new hire, etc - but it hasn't been fruitful. I would suspect there are many others like me that are going to reach the point of not bothering anymore.

Personally, I'm close. It's not fun anymore and actual information gleaned is going away.

If I were you I would heavily use the ignore feature. It may help your experience a ton.

There have been periods of infighting since the board was founded. Eventually the outliers from the herd will get culled.

Of course, I could be one you are talking about. ;)

Why is it a few feel the need to fight with anyone about anything? It is getting old. Some threads turn from good topics to a couple posters fighting about some stupid detail. It is a waste of everyones time to post this crap. If you have a problem with a poster PM them, dont ruin a thread and waste others time with it. Post what you think others can disagree with you but there is no reason to take it personal. 95% of the time you are not going to change those who dont agree with you so why waste your time over and over again. As for hawk posters they are going to be here like it or not, as much as it annoys me I dont know what we can do about it. I guess they care more about what ISU thinks than they let on. As long as some post Iowa topics they will come and defend their teams.

There are many people that can't resist criticizing someone else. It's pretty easy to sit at a computer and type remarks about other people that they would never say face to face. Not because they don't have the "guts" or whatever, but because they think before they speak. On the computer, many don't think before they type.

There's also the sarcasm posts. They get old as well. It's like watching that show that used to be on, Rosanne. It's so predictable, waiting for sarcastic post that is not relevant or funny at all. Many end up quit watching, or in this case go to a different Cyclone website.

Welcome to CF when nothing good is happening in cyclonenation, aka 98% of the time.

The thing is, things ARE happening. We just hired a new HC for FB and announced a new OC. The MBB team seems to be making progress, the WBB just knocked off Vandy, and we're on the edge with a lot of recruits and commitments. NOW is when I want to be on CF more than any other time.

FYI - I received four rep comments within two minutes of making the comment, so many others out there most likely feel the same.

PLEASE don't start charging! I just found out about this place a few weeks ago. I used to post on Cyclone Report, but then you suddenly had to pay to post. I already donate enough money to Iowa State directly, in one way or another, I don't want to have to pay to get basic information and/or have a conversation about it. It practically killed CR, too.
