Mine would hands down be Tasty Tacos with Abelardo's being honorable mention due to the late night hours. B-Bops is the only fast food burger joint I will go to.

DH was a big Taco John's fan after spending time in Marshalltown. Then he always wanted to get in Ames too. Closest one now is a solid 20 minutes away which defeats the purpose of getting fast food. Don't think we've had it since college now.

Same two I would have picked. B-Bop's is the best fast food burger and Tasty Tacos for best Mexican. The flour tacos and flour nachos are amazing.

Tasty Tacos is definitely awesome, but I'm not sure that it's fast food. You have to wait for forever in line at each of the locations, and it's slower than, say, Taco Time. It sort of reminds me of Panera or Noodles and Company, which I also don't consider traditional fast food.

I really miss Mr. Goodcents. Used to live at that place when it was on Welch in Campustown. Still alive and well in Kansas City area so when down there for Big 12's I hit that place up a couple of times. I love it.

You could walk into McDonald's and have to wait in line though.

True. But they tend to have food pre-made, which always seems like another part of fast food to me. Not everything is made upon order. It's why I have a hard time considering Chipotle/Panchero's/Qdoba fast food.

How is McDonald's so popular? I don't know anyone who ever say "let's eat at McDonald's tonight". no one. We'll eat it maybe on a road trip if it's the only thing in a town but never anytime else. Gross.

1. That place sucks so bad it's not worth me pronouncing it right
2. They have spoken out against livestock farmers in the past and creating videos that make farmers look like terrible people. Basically they have done what PETA does.

The worst service and worst food I've ever had were both at a Chipotle. I will never go to one again.

they've spoken out against livestock farmers who raise their animals in feedlots or other tight conditions. They speak out for livestock farmers who provide free range and other similar conditions. that's who they market to - so what?

Not very often anymore. I miss the days when you could walk into McDonald's and get a couple hamburgers and be out right away. Their menu has gotten so diverse, and their staff behind the counter so small, they make everything as it is ordered. The last time I ordered two hamburgers and a small fry, it took over close to ten minutes. The last time I ordered a BK breakfast sandwich, it took fifteen minutes.

I only go to those places two or three times a year, so probably not that big of a deal.

About the only time I go there is if it is the only thing place or if I'm with somebody who has small kids.

Was it like right at the time when they crossover from breakfast to lunch or something, or was it crazy busy? I mean it takes a minute or less to cook a patty from frozen, if they didn't have any fries made that might take 3-5 minutes.

I know, right? How is it that a person can't walk into a restaurant with 35,000+ locations and, for less money than it costs to buy a pair of socks, demand freshly-made food without it taking a whole ten minutes? I sure hope my children live to see a better world.

I am always surprised at the amount of people that like B-Bops. I have given them 4 or 5 chances and the food has been awful every time.
