This trial is making sick!!

This Sickles guy argues that this was a consensual encounter, then the Chief says he went to the bathroom while this was all going on...and we're to believe them? I hope they both go to prison!!

Regardless of the circumstances...even if it was consensual, their actions in a public place is completely unacceptable especially for a person in his positions and authority!!!!

Re: Dirty Creston Cops

Why would you assume we know what you're talking about?

(hint: post a link)

Re: Dirty Creston Cops

This is a very vague generalization, but I would imagine the average small town cop in Iowa MAYBE has a CC degree and got beat up a lot in HS.

Re: Dirty Creston Cops

:no:What's sad is your response to a woman being violated, whether it was by law enforcement or not, doesn't lighten the severity of the act or the accountability of the perpetrators.

hardly. its sad because no matter the outcome, someone (if not all involved) loses.

the secretly recorded conversation leads me to believe this is a he said she said ... and EITHER one could be right. That is the sad part.. the complete truth may not be known... EVER. And someone was wronged.... and that could be from either side.

"Look into it?" said the woman. "Tell me what looking into it means, what are you're going to do?"

"Well, I can do some more talking with him. That's my best answer at this point. Because, like I said, that is not, in any way, the way I recall it. And I want to know what the purpose here is, because of people that have tried to blackmail me in the past," said Christensen on the tape.

"I don't want any money. I want you to fire him! I don't want him to be a cop anymore," said the woman.

Re: Dirty Creston Cops

Both cops admitted in affidavits that sex did occur while both of them were present. The only issue is whether it was consensual or not.

Yep (it was implied in the taped conversation) ... that is the sad part, no matter how this ends up.. the truth may never be known.

Re: Dirty Creston Cops

She doesnt want any money but wants him to be fired. Honestly what would be her motive to lie? I guess if they had some sort of hatred or something for each other for a past conflict, maybe. She doesnt gain much from exposing this other than getting him fired.

good point. but maybe to save face with her significant other? so that relationship doesn't end on her mistake (not saying she is lying.. just the what ifs).

That is the thing about these he/she said situations.... most of the time the truth is never known. And isn't that the purpose of a trial, to get to the absolute truth? I hope her story isn't true.. I wouldn't wish that on anyone ... but a false accusation is almost as bad as the act itself.

Re: Dirty Creston Cops

This is really, really tough. I'm a huge proponent of victims' rights, however, apparently she's done this before with rich Creston men and tried to blackmail them. But on the other hand, I really want to believe her because if she's lying, that will really hurt all the women in the future who are courageous enough to stand up to their acccuser. Also, it's so tough to prove he said/she said cases. Wow...

I forgot to mention one more thing... I'm not sure how credible she is. Apparently DHS has taken her children away several times. Whether that has anything to do with rape, I don't know, but if her character comes into play during the trial, she's probably in trouble.

EXACTLY how I feel! The only facts I have been able to compile on this incident are from the media, and I will NEVER, EVER form an opinion off information I receive from that source. This is why we have juries, to decide if the accused is or is not at fault once they have received all the facts and evidence that the prosecutors and defenders have been able to gather. Until the verdict comes down, and if you are not directly involved in the case, you should not be passing judgment.

Did you follow own advice in trials for OJ, the unibomber, Timothy McVeigh, etc.?
