Anyone know what's going on at DSM airport? I'm sitting in Denver waiting to fly there and they are saying the runway lights are out in DSM. How is that even possible?? Wouldn't there be some sort of backup?? Going on 1.5 hour delay.

Are you a football recruit for Iowa State?.....apparently this causes a lot of problems for them to get up to Ames. Really hard to get them up there. Might need to hire a house mover and raise the stadium to move it to Clive.

^ Expanded for what? It is a tough world our there for small city airports already and doesn't bode well for Ames or Des Moines, for the matter, to split the already modest air traffic volume between the two.
Demand drives down prices. I'm not sure splitting the baby helps anyone airline ticket price-wise.

Yeah that wont ever happen with Des Moines being so close, and currently very cheap.
To an extent it is needed but not for commercial service. They need new FBO management and I would love to do it.
