I had to mute the 2nd half, pause the TV for a few seconds to get it to line up with the audio streamed via cyclones.tv. I plan on doing the same again tonight. Len ruined the first half for me.

The concept that a person paid solely to analyze basketball games cannot tell the difference between a matchup zone and a switching certain screens just amazes me. I played high school basketball and could tell you we weren't in a matchup zone.

Yeah, his commentary has been cringe-worthy for many years. The only bright spot was the way they were gushing about Niang and BDJ, as well as our "unstoppable" offense. Also, you have to love what Williams had to say about Fred's NBA-style offense in which any young person would want to play.

The worst part about it is he kept trying to figure out if we were in a match-up zone or man. Just drop it if you don't know what you are doing.

"Cyclones coming out in man, wait, it maybe is a zone. Well, there the defender followed his guy all the way to the hoop, so it must be man, but then Thomas and Morris switched up top, so it has to be a zone, but you see it is so confusing because they guard an area, and guard a person...."

If you don't understand it just shut up and stop trying to figure it out.

There is a picture of Georges in the Rag today where he got up in the air more than these guys (or anyone else) give him credit for.

Major fail by USA Today in those captions:

Iowa State Cyclones forward Dustin Hogue (22) shoots as Iowa State Cyclones guard Monte Morris (11) defends during the first half at Sprint Center.
Iowa State Cyclones guard Bryce Dejean-Jones (13) shoots as Iowa State Cyclones guard Monte Morris (11) defends during the first half at Sprint Center.

Iowa State Cyclones forward Jameel McKay (1) and Alabama Crimson Tide guard/forward Riley Norris (1) fight for the ball during the second half at Sprint Center. Iowa State won 84-74.

I listened to the morning zoo today and they were talking about how we have a short bench and there might be concern because of the lack of depth. Didn't 8 guys get in the game last night?

Normally Ross is pretty knowledgeable about the local teams but it seems like the media types are clueless about this team.

I'm always surprised that folks don't just tune the announcers out. They're universally bad. Just take them for humor or nothing at all. That's really what they provide.

This. The whole rage and "I HAD to mute them!!!" stuff is pretty comical.

Even Frank Hoiberg would agree.

The only announcer I really appreciate/pay attention to is Fran Fraschilla. He does his homework and honestly seems to provide balanced analysis during games.

Nice to hear that Alabama may get their first academic all american. How many times did they mention that? The university must be so proud.

Fran's okay. I personally like Miles Simon. He's smart, articulate, objective and played the game at the highest level. I agree that Len was not well prepared last night. He too was a huge talent back in the day.

My God people...chill out. Just be happy that most the game are on national television.

It was the third game of the season...ISU isn't going to get Musburger or Fran every freaking game.

There is also free audio delay software that will let you set a delay for any audio on your pc to sync up with tv.

The reason people on here ***** about the announcers is that the opposition or casuals that watch are misinformed more by sloppy comments.
